She sighed. "Saturn." When Saturn had flown off the skyscraper, she had went in the same direction where the gang was. So where was she now? She scanned the area. "She couldn't have gone far." She flew to the right scanning in alley ways, trees, nothing. Blaike noticed something, an uprooted tree. A storm must have done it. There was a large hole in the ground where the roots should have been, but since the tree hadn't fully uprooted itself, the hole remained there with nothing to fill it, and there was a slight movement that caught her eye. She motioned towards Kit, and they both flew down to the tree. "Saturn?" She called and looked down into the hole, there she was, tears streaming down her face. Blaike pushed the roots out of the way and took hold on Saturn's hand, pulling her up and out. She sat the young girl on the ground. "You've got to stop disappearing like this." She said to Saturn.
Kit stood by Blaike and ruffled the young girl's hair, "Keep making us worry like that and you will have to deal with more than a few angry bird kids." He turned his eyes to Blaike for a moment, "Lets get out of here." With that he looked around, there were a few people on the street but it didnt matter now anyway, Kits wings were still out. He frowned deeply and turned. All three broke out in to a run and snapped their wings open. THe wind caught them and lifted their bodies in to the air. The rest of the flock caught sight of Kit's daring red wings and joined them in the sky. People pointed and gasped as the six headed out of the city. This time no one shot at them. Kit found it strange that the school had yet to send any sort of team or force to catch them. Well, it didnt matter now they were all together again and headed up river. It was only a matter of time now before they met Max.
Great. Now they would be the next story. She sighed. Her wings felt wonderful with the air wisping through them. Her headache was slowly coming back. It was weird that they had stopped. Maybe because he main focus was on Kit? Or, perhaps because, well, she really had no idea. If they didn't meet up with Max and her gang by the end of the day, they would have to find someway of knowing where they were. What was that again? Fangs...blog? Yea that was it. Or on the TV. It would be a lot of help if they knew exactly where the others were. Oh well. At least they would find them. Why hadn't they seen any Fly Boys? Or any other kind of agents? She shrugged. The sooner they found Max, the better.
The group continued north, all the while the tension of meetin Max was building and Kit was slowly losing hope that they would find her before nightfall but ahead in the distance, six dots appeared just barely big enough for even his eyes to see. "Blaike! Look!" he called and pointed ahead. He tossed her a look of sheer excitement. That had to be them! He couldnt believe it!
Blaike jerked her head forward and let out a laugh. "You have got to be kidding me!" She called out. "Come on!" She motioned to the gang as she pumped her wings harder and harder. Max, Max, Max, thats all that was running through her head. Maybe her questions could be finally answered, maybe she could finally understand why all this happened. Maybe she'd finally belong somewhere! She looked at Kit and smiled one of the biggest smiles ever.
Kit rushed forward with Blaike and the distance between the two flocks closed easily. Soon they were only a few hundred away and Kit could easily see each of their faces and details of their wings. Max and her gang swivled in the air with trained accruacy so that they could stay hovering. Kit came to s slightly more clumsy hault. Max stared at them untrusting eyes. The boy with the black hair and night black wings stayed at her side and looked just as untrusting. One of the boys that Kit had saw laughing along with a younger boy stayed a little ways behind them, his eyes didnt seem to have proper pupils but he was focused on the group with pinpoint percision. The three younger kids fluttered in the back. The youngest boy stared at them with wide eyes, looking more curious than hostile. The girl with the tanned skin and fawn colored wings seemed to squirm with excitement. Lastly the young girl in the back seemed to be at ease as she watched them. her big blue eyes turned from one of the members in Kit's flock to another. Her eyes rested on Blaike for a moment and her eyes narrowed. Her eyes rested on Kit lastly and her eyes remained narrowed. She moved foward toward Max and just looked up at her. Max nodded and pointed at the ground. Each member of her flock plummeted to the ground as if they were one person. Kit envied how easily they got along together. Kit tossed a glance sideways at Blaike and Shrugged his shoulders.
Blaike shrugged back and followed them all to the ground. They all flew with perfect ease, and grace. She was quite jealous. She realized it would probably take a bit for them all to trust one another. But she hoped it would come in time. As they all landed, they stood on either side of each other. Max's gang were eying them. And Blaike suddenly felt extremely small. Especially when Max's eyes rested on her. "My name is Blaike." She said in a strong voice. "This is Kit, Theo, Zemmie, Scott, and Saturn." She pointed to each one as she said there names, and looked back to the new bird kids. She didn't know what to say without it being too much, she didn't know if they would trust them or not.
Max glanced at each of kids opposite of her group, "This is Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman and Angel." She pointed to her own group, her voice as level and even as Blaike's. Fang, the tall dark boy, was eyeing them dangerously but Nudge burst out, "I cant believe we actually managed to find you guys!" Her brown eyes lit up with excitement which was quickly cool by Max and Fang turning at the same time to give her the evil eye. Kit lifted his brow for a moment. He also lifted his hands in a non threatning way, "Uh," they all turned back to him, "We've been looking for you guys." Max's eyes darkned and Kit knew he had to choose his words wisely. "Ya see, we were made at the school, more than likely just like you guys." Max said nothing but let him continue, "Not more than a few days ago we managed to escape ourselves. We had hear through the grape vine that there were others who escaped and we knew that had to be you guys! We got to a big city, not really planning on looking for you all but on the TV we saw your press conference." At that Iggy and Gasman glanced at eachother and began to giggle again. Nudge relaxed a bit but Max and Fang didnt. "We heard that you crossed the Mississippi river and we thought that well... Since we are all like you guys you wouldnt mind if we caught up to meet with you." Kit's wings stretched out a bit and he pointed, "Of course we arent exactly like you as you can see. My wings are a bit..." "Exaggerated?" Fang put in. "Flambouyant?" Max jeered as well. Kit's face lit up like a light bulb of red and he scratched the backof his head, "I was going for different but i guess that works too."
