"No," I said cheerfully. "No way is that happening." I laughed. "Mummy.." (yeah, i call her that sometimes) "You said that my dad died when going on a boat..." My voice trailed off. "Oh my goodness." I said. "You.. Poseidon, met on the beach. Married, he left you on a boat."
My mom nodded, glumly. I sighed as she tried to hold back the tears. "He was a beautiful man," she said. "Handsome and perfect. But he was a Greek God. He couldn't stay with me forever. He never met you, but knew I was carrying you. And he said when you were born, he wanted you to go to Camp Half-Blood. The real home for you."
Oh. My. God. No. My real home's here. And my mom was making me leave it.

I yawned; the bus was just arriving at Camp Half-Blood, the signs just passed over my head. "Finally here," I muttered to Anya, who sat next to me. "Wonder how the cabins are arranged?" I thought aloud. "Perhaps it's by god-parent?" I gazed around the bus, wondering if there were any other of Apollo's children on it. What if they could sing just as well as I could? That would be a damper. But then, maybe I could learn to be a better healer from them; after all, we should be able to teach each other.

I shrugged to her. "Maybe." Were there really other people out there that were also children of Aphrodite? This was all still really strange to me, but it was a new experience and I've learned to accept it. It really was exciting as I thought about it. We stood and stepped off of the bus. I looked around, it really was extremely beautiful out here. I was amazed at it. It was the most beautiful scenery I had ever seen!

I got off of the bus with the other kids, amazed at what I saw. Then I remembered what I had looked up on the internet."The greek god aries...the god of war... "I thought about how anything to do with me was accosiated with this guy who was not good at fighting but could start huge wars.He'd been beatn' like 7 or 8 times by other olypians or other gods....but how would some one who wasn't into war be accosiated with him? Or even related? I saw Anya and her friend and walked over to them."Say... wich god are you related to? I'm related to Aries, the god of war..."I whispered to her in a low voice. I didn't know if any body else was related to a greek god, so if somone wasn't I'd act like I played a joke. I was good at fighting, but I wasn't in the mood for a fight.

I stepped out of mother's red Toyota Camry and kissed her good bye. She was blinking back a sob, and I was blinking back tears. The way my mother made it sound, I would never see her again.
I took my only belonging that I had -- a shell necklace thing (I know, girlish, but my mom said that that was what my father gave to her) -- and made my appearance.
First thing that I was was my friends. From school. I muttered a 'hi' to them then stopped right beside them. "What do you think about this?" I asked. "Our.. new homes?" Somehow, having them next to me felt right.

I shrugged towards Luke as I answered the other girls question, "We're all here because we're related to Gods. My mother was Aphrodite." I turned back to Luke, "Could you really call this our new home?" How long would we be staying here? My pale green eyes looked every which way, this place was utterly beautiful, but I missed my mom...Well, my adoptive mom anyway. I saw a few counselors talking to a group of kids and waited for them to come over here and talk to us. Did Aphrodite have other children as well? Like family members to us? This was all too confusing. "Can you guys make any more sense of all of this?"
