ooc: srysrysry! Resta's half right, i had an early dismissal today, had alot of hw last night, and was sick the day before! lol. Okay, we can start now. >:D

ic: Emmaline stood in line with other Graced teens in the care of the castle. She was one of the youngest, but the king had called all of the children sixteen and older from the nursery who didn't know their Graces. There were six of them altogether, which showed the rarity of having a grace.

They stood in silence, contemplating why they'd been called there. They were in the room all alone, completely silent. She did everything she could not to start humming in the deafening silence. She vowed to herself not to sing or make any music ever. The servants in the castle hummed all the time, and it seemed to sooth them, but something about music gave her shivers down her spine.

At last, as if she would go insane in the silence, the doors flew open and King Randa entered the room with a large grin. His eyes twinkled with whatever plan hatched in his head. "Hello dear ones! We're getting old, aren't we?" He strolled up to the shortest girl and pinched her cheeks as if to remind her that he could do what ever he wanted to.

"Now you are all of age. When a man takes a wife, when a soldier enters the field, when a child takes over a parent's business," the King paced. Emmaline noted his expensive robes, "You must all find your use in this world. And being Graced, you fit in according to your Graces. If you do not find out what your Graces are," He stopped pacing, looking thoughtfully into each person's eyes. "Then we have no use for you, and must let you go to find your own work."

Emmaline heard in the way he said that last part that she wouldn't go and run an inn or work on a farm. She'd heard of Graced outside of the castle, those who were beggars, or hidden from others. Some were lucky enough to not have a Grace as useful as someone elses, but still useful for trade. Like a metalworker Graced with making even weighted swords, as opposed to the craftsman who made beautiful blades. One made good money working for others, while the other worked for the king.

King Randa dismissed them for lunch with a nod, leaving the room, doors open. Emmaline stood in line with the others for several long moments, not sure whether to be frightened, upset, or relieved.

Ooc: lol, my Grace's description got cut >.>

Ic: "Emm, hi guys. I'm Theodren, but you can call me Theo. I mean, everyone else does," he added with a slight chuckle after the king had left. Perhaps it wouldn't be all bad, if these people were people he could get alone with. If these people were different than his father. But they had to be. After all, they were all Graced. Not just some of them.

Katheren sat in one of the palaces many hallways after the meeting. The faded colors of the silky linen carpet, wich consisted of a smooth blood red color, and a rather dull gold, embrodered with the strange palace insignia. She felt confused. she had been wandering over to the cobblers store to find out if they had fashoned another pair of black iron toed boots, when a bunch of roudy knights had come clanking to her side and had escorted her to this king's palace. The king had said his name was King Randa something, though she hadn't listened to his ridiculouseley long name. He had told them that if they didn't know what thier Graces were, then they were useless. She already knew hers, considering the fact that she always carrried a silver-gold sword under her dank and faded brown cloak. Her black boots had also happened to fade, and that was the only reason she had really gone out to a town like this, and the fact that she needed more provisions, such as food and flint stones to start a fire. There had been others, though she hadn't really paid attention to how many graced peoeple were there. She did hope they knew their Graces though, because she liked the assembled group. She turned to her left and saw a man in fancy clothing examining the brightley coclored tapastrys that lined the walls. Two knights followed him, though they seemed irritable towards him, and one pulled out his sword. He raised it high above his head, and the other knight, fell to the ground, unconsciouse. She attacked the knight as the man turned around just in time to realize that he had nearley been assasinated by his escorts. The knight lay on the floor.

Kahlan walked next to the others. The one introduced himself as Theo and she simply nodded and smiled. Forgetting to give her own name. She hated being around people, because when people got too close, she'd hear them. And when she'd ask what they meant, they all looked frightened and scared, so they really didn't give her the time of day. Maybe it was because she was Graced? But with what? How? Did that honestly make her different though? She was still a person. She brushed her hair behind her ears, revealing her pale freckled face. There was a slight flush to it, because she was so extremely nervous.

"Who are you?" Theo asked, smiling kindly. However, a glitter in the corner caught his eyes, and his head swiveled over. A sharp intake of breath later, Theo said, "They...they have...new recurved bows....The only ones I've ever seen were about to..snap." Shutting his mouth quickly, Theo realized that he had said all that out loud. Oops. But man, did he want to try one of those!

Daveth scratched the back of his neck uncomfortably. He was the shortest of the three boys here and it was making him feel just a bit over whelmed. He took a step back from the others and reviewed what the king had said. Usefulness was what he was looking for and he would force it out of these children or cast them away like broken toys. The dark haired boy frowned deeply and couldnt resist trying to find a nice little corner to hide. Yet something stopped from being so introverted and willing the others to go away. He sighed softly and offered up his name, "Im... Daveth for those listening."

Katheren walked over to the others after having the wierd guy escorted back to the king. She saw them chatting and walked over, carefull to keep her sword tucked beneath her cloak. "Hi. Who would you guys happen to be?"she asked with a crooked grin. Her brown hair tumbled out as she removed her cloak hood, and she decided to lean against the wall for comfort, not knowing or caring if there was a chair to sit in. Her sword glinted with its ruby encrusted hilt, and she took no notice. She decided to ask her number one question- and give half an answer. "Say, what is your grace? I'm graced with sword fighting, and I like it."she continued. She liked seeing so many people. It brightened up the gloom of the room they were in, considering the fact that it had very little furnature, but it was still a beautifull room.

"Uhh..." Daveth replied lamely, "We... Dont exactly know yet... Thats why the king brought us here and talked to us." The boy turned his blue and black eyes to the rest of the group. "We havent figured it out..." He shrugged his shoulders and grinned sheepishly. "He least of all knew his powers. Just how were they to know? Did they say some magic word or do some sort of ritual? He hadnt figured it out. All Daveth knew was that he liked darkness and stillness. Something about the night made his heart pound with excitement. He felt like a panther when he stood in the shadows and watched people. He wanted to be a predator, not prey like a sheep. That was, he wanted to be braver than he was.

"Oh I see." Katheren replied. She was glad to know that she might be able to help."So how do you propose you discover your talents?"she continued."Tell me what you seem to like, something that you feel. I can't really explain mine with words though."she stared at them and her crooked grin remained. Her posture was to her comfort, even if others thought it was weird. "Say you like... thoughtfullness, like being able to think. Sometimes you may be confused as to what others think and may want to learn it."she searched the room for a person who might appeal to that idea.
