ic: Scorchpaw padded over to the dead cat's body, and wondered how he had been killed. She didn't know much about the other clans, but felt that this was a bit uch. Couldn't they have just exiled him? Or did he do something that was really bad, anough for them to have to kill him? Bluegaze padded over to her. "Oh well, even if they were planning to attack, I don't really see why. We didn't start this... at least I don't think."she sighed, staring at scorchpaw. "How about we eat some freshkill? We got plenty of fish, and we can share the on I caught."Scorchpaw put in. They hadn't really eaten yet.

Redstar trudged back in to camp, his foul mood apperant by the look on his face. He grunted at Riverheart who was sitting by the camp entrance. He was followed by Bluegaze, Shadewing, Shadowpelt, Florestadream, Lilyflower, Crookedpath, Flamedance, Cloudheart and Scorchpaw. The formidable group hadnt run in to trouble but they did smell horrid from dealing with the body.
Shadewing passed a friendly smile toward Riverheart only to recieve a cordial nod back. The black tom frowned and entered camp with his siblings. The leader found his way to a lifted area of grass and dirt they called the Leader's hill. Redstar sat there for a moment and let out a call for all his clan members to gather. Shadewing sat down on the edge of the crowd with Florestadream and Shadowpelt at his sides.

Riverheart stood up and padded over to the others. "Any trouble?" he asked, struggling to put a cheerful note back into his voice. He was supposed to be the friendly, upbeat, funny one. Not the cold, stand-offish, aloof one. His mind had just been drifting before, thoughts of PantherClan invading when Redstar had trudged by.

Shadewing gave the tom a wary smile, "Well... other than a few lost fish and a dead body, no today was splendid." Shadewing found his good humor again and turned a warm smile to Riverheart. "It just makes on a little standoffish when you saw what we did." He chuckled softly and turned back as Redstar's commanding voice boomed.
"As you all know, skirmishes between Riverclan and Pantherclan had usually ended in stalemates. They tried a full blown invasion not to long ago but that didnt work either. A few of you were still kits then." The dark ginger tom turned to Shadewing and Shadowpelt. They had been two of the six kits at the time. four of those kits were now dead and had been since the attack. "Windclan helped us that time but it wont last forever... We need to do something and do it fast. I have a plan... We need to scout for rogues and loners outside of our clans to help us fight off Pantherclan." Hisses and growls rose from Riverclan but Redstar's glaring amber eyes silenced them. "I propose we send six cats in order to persuade or strong arm cats in to joining us. Whatever works to get them to fight for us." More growls rose as Cloverheart burst out.
"And what do you propose we do here?! We will be to weak to fight with six of us gone!"
Redstar hissed back at her, "Dont you think i know that! I need to meet with Rainstar. If we can persuade him to let us join his clan for just a little while as our six recruit more cats, then we will have enough to forces to keep Windclan and Riverclan alive."
Subdued hisses and frowns followed the announcement, "I will speak with Crookedpath about who shall go. We need young fresh blood to go, to show others our power and resolve."
Shadewing felt at a loss for words. What could he do? Honestly what could any of them do? Redstar was only doing this because he knew what was best for his clan. Sure he was rough and grizzled but that was because he had been born in to war. He was a wise cat when it came to battle, he had outwitted Pantherstar on more than many occasions. She had tried to get him to join her but he was as loyal as he was fierce. A Riverclan cat he was born and a Riverclan cat he would stay.

Scorchpaw decided to talk to Tigerpaw, and wanted to see if he was up to anything. She nodded to Bluegaze who gave her a knowing look and went to the apprentices den to find Tigerpaw playing with a ball of moss. "Look out!"she laughed. He spun around, a shocked look on his face."What? Who? Huh?"He cried. "Scorchie! Don't do that!"He chuckled as she padded over. Then he backed of, his fur bristling."Wow! You smell rank! What happened? You fall in badger dung?" "No! We found a dead Pantherclan cat in the river while hunting."She answered. Bluegaze had trotted over to Riverheart.

"Well, so far we've run into a dead body."she answered. She led him over to the rather bloated body of Rainmask."Redstar thinks he may have been a triator cat and his clanmates may have killed him for it. I might beleive it, but it may be another reason. He could have done something unforgivable."Bluegaze continued as they stared at the body. It smelled rank.

riverheart chuckled to himself, but then listened attentively. He had been two moons old at the invasion, and he counted himself lucky that he survived. "Redstar," he meowed, standing up, realized that everyone had hushed and others were sending him stern glances. "If you don't...well, I think I should go." He had said it, and now he sat back down. Sure it was brash, and it was bold as well. Wasn't that what Redstar was looking for?

Redstar lifted a brow at Riverheart, "You think you should go eh? At least someone is willing to put his own self last and the good of the clan first. Alright Riverheart you may go. Anyone else you think should go? You seem a good judge of character." Redstar didnt mean it to be harsh or a compliment. He was simply stating a fact. His gruff voice almost made it sound like an insult though. The ginger leader shot a warnign glance toward the apprentice den. Tigerpaw and Scorchpaw were supposed to be at the meeting and were not. They would be cleaning out the elders down for a few days as a lesson.

Suddenley, Scorchpaw stood." May I come as well?" Bluegaze also stood. She seemed to want to go as well. "We may be succesfull in our search if we hurry."she said. Scorchpaw smiled at her, but paid close attention to Redstar. Finding loners or rouges could be dangerouse, but it was worth a shot. Bluegaze seemed more up to attention than usual. Tigerpaw also stood, but he was next to his mentor. He also wanted to join them. They were now out of the apprentice den, but Scorchpaw knew that they might not go. They had just missed half of the meeting. Bluegaze stood tall, and looked at her apprentice.

"I...uh. Shadewing, Shadowpelt, and Florestadream area ll really brave, they'd put their lives down for RiverClan any day. Especially since we were the few kits that survived that full invasion." Perhaps he had said too much. He wasn't used to speaking out during meetings, after all. He was only himself, a young warrior, not experienced, not wise.
