Darton went over and wrapped his wing around Mist. He saw how frightened she was. "It'll be okay. We all share your emotions." He looked across the wasteland that had been his home. Tears formed in his eyes. He loved it here, no matter how bad it was. He would never see it again. He forced his eyes away from it, and smiled down at Mist. "I promise, I won't let a thing happen to anyone. We'll find the cure," he whispered.

Konka flew around the others, getting the feeling of the wind in her wings, and then she landed next to Darton and Starstuck, her red eyes sweeping over them. Her enormouse black wings folded in and she lay next to them for a few minutes, hearing Mist. She glanced up into the sky, her eyes seeming to burn. She liked their flying capability, and liked her friends. Her scaly head turned towards Mist, her black wings now outfolding. "I can't either...."

Mist looked at her friends. "Well," She said. "At least I wont be alone. I'll be with you guys."
She smiled. She looked up into the sky. "Well, tomorrow's the big day! You all packed? herbs? Everything?" She looked at the ouch around her neck. She reached down and nestled her nose into it. "The sweet smell of all we'll have left on our journey." She sighed and looked up into the sky.

Darton stepped away from Mist and stared at her. He followed her eyes to the clouds, happily moving through the sky. He wished it was that easy to travel. He looked back at Mist and nodded. "Now, what about you? I can help you with your stuff," he suggested, then looked to everyone else. "Or any of you guys. Need help with anything?" he asked.

Konka nodded. "I just need one more thing that I need help with. Will you come to my den for a moment?"she asked him. She had something preciouse that she needed to take, and she was having trouble finding a pouch for it. She looked towards her den, her red eyes darkening. This was the last time she would ever go into it.

Darton saw Konka's sorrow and smiled at her. He whisked his tail. "It'll be okay. Yeah, I can help you," he replied, and followed Konka into her den. He sat down while he waited for Konka to get whatever it was she needed, and he looked around. There was nothing left there. She had packed everything. So had he. Sort of. He had left most of his possessions to his sister.
