"Yeah...Sunrise told me. Er... what do you think will happen now?"she asked. The little one hopped off of her and plopped onto Mit's head. "Mommy! I fly!" and then she hopped back onto Konoka. She bounced onto Konoka's tail, playing with it. "I never meant to have a hatchling."she told Mist."Remember that Ruby I always carried around? It came form the ruby. I don't know why or how."she told Mist now, sorrow in her voice.
"The ppor thing. She can't come with us. It will be hard for her without her mother around. And I know you'll bake a great one by the way," She said smiling. She looked to the hatchling. "Hey little girl," She said. "Your mighty strong for a young dragon."
The little hatchling giggled, but Konoka gave Mist a worried look. "Why can't she come?"she asked. The little one came up and clungs to their tails. It liked being gently swung around. Konoka turned to it. She then picked it up and held it in her arms. Why couldn't they bring her? What was the problem?
"I think it'll be a little dangerous." Mist sighed. Even she wated the hatchling to come. she smiled and put her head down next to the hatchling. "Do you want to go on an adventure?" Mist asked. "It's very dangerous. But if it's okay with you, then it's okay with me." She smiled and looked at konoka. She was happy about the hatchling. and everything. She was just glad to be there.
Sunrise was curled up in her bed her head up listening to the other dragons talking about bringing the hatchling with them. "Won't it make her stronger to fly around with us or maybe even braver? Because if I was a young dragon and i learned and went on a quest with everyone I would be stronger. By the way if were thinking about names why dont we call the hatchling Rusby because her egg looked like a Ruby."
"Mommy, can I go?" the little one asked. "Sure. I'll protect you. I don't think we should name her until.... a sertan someone shows up..."she said, her voice faltering. Did Mist know that the egg had hatched when Konoka and Darton had been alone? The little one flapped her wings and hopped on Konoka's head. "Mommy! I can fly! Wee!" she laughed and giggled. She then nestled into Konoka's arms to rest. "Ah, right. We should go to sleep."Konoka reminded them. It wass dusk now, and the stars had begun to shine.
Konoka thought of what name would suit the youngling. She had been born from a ruby egg...had green and purple scales... sirene?...Asola?.....metronome?...cascada?...mabe...Latsuli? What name would fit the child?

Darton flew for a while with Treynar, and they soon came to a mountain that rose above the clouds. They landed, and there, was the most beautiful dragon Darton had ever seen. She was light silver, with crystal eyes. "Darton, this is Selena, the maker of the dragon gods," Treynar explained. "I find the right dragons for her, and she makes them gods," he said. Darton froze. No! Not him! He clawed the earth, and Selena looked at him. "This is the one," she rasped, and went over to a box of things. She yanked out a diamond. Darton backed away, thinking it was another egg. Selena handed it to him. "For you." He looked at it. It was gray in color, and it matched his color. Selena stood at the top of the mountain, and rose into the air. She began to speak. "By the power of all others, I grant this one the power of being dragon god of direction," she said, and Darton stared at her blankly. The diamond suddenly lit up, and he nearly dropped it. Selena landed and stared at Darton. "You are now god of direction. You will find your power in yourself, and you mustn't let another soul know until you have mastered your power." She turned and walked away. Darton didn't know a thing of what ad just happened. No! This wasn't what he'd wanted! He stared at the diamond, and noticed a leather strap. He wore it around his neck, like a necklace.

I am Jaggedpine. Just thought I should let you know.
Konoka haddecidedto give her youngling an experience in flight. She jumped into the air while carrying her, and slowly flew around the area. The little hatchling laughed and giggled in delight. "Mommy! I can't wait for daddy! He see me fly!"she laughed. Konoka smiled. Suddenly, the hatchling jumped out of her arms, and flapped its wings. Konoka gasped, thinking it would plummit to the ground, however, the little one stayed aloft. "I want daddy to see me fly!"she giggled. but her stamina was low. she landed back into Konoka's arms, safe and asleep.
Sunrise was still sitting in her bed. Then her eyes went wide. "What if what ever her name is thinks Darton is her father? Because I think she does." Sunrise thought about it. The hatchling will definantly think Darton will be her father. Sunrise knew Konoka would have would have to tell the hatchling because you can't live a lie for your entire life.
Konoka wandered why she and Darton....why did this one have to be born unto them? Surly There had been a mistake? Her mother couldn't have purposley givin her an egg, right? What did the hatchling think? Did it actualy think Darton was its father? She looked down at the sleeping hatchling in her arms. She did know. She had called Darton her father earlyer. But what would they do? Darton didn't love her, and she didn't love him. How had this happened, aftr years of thinking that the little stone was just a ruby?
