Gabby woke up the next morning. She yawned and wiped the drool off her cheek. She looked at her door. Did she dare go downstairs? Dave, the bit fat mother stealer was still down there. What was she supposed to do.
She fell back onto her bed. There was a sudden knock at the door. Gabby sighed.
"Come in!" She moaned.
Simon opened the door slowly. He was wearing his blue airplane jammies, his brown hair was a mess, in one hand he has his blanky, and in the other his bear. He rubbed his eye with the hand with the blanky.
"Gabby," He said in a tired way. "Does mommy hate our old daddy now?"
Gabby sighed. She walked up to the tired boy and picked him up, and took her inside her room. She sat him down on her bed and sat next to him.
"No," She said calmly. "Then why did she take off da weving ring?" He asked with his little kid grammar. "Wedding ring." She said correcting him. "And it's because she loves dave now." "I dont wlike dave." He said, pouting. "Neither do I," gabby said. "Den why does mommy wove him?" "Well, we might not like him, but mommy still does." "I dont want him to bwe my new dahdy." "Neither do I, but thats how things have to be." "I fink mommy rweally dwoes hate dahdah." "Why is that?" Gabby asked with a smile. "I fwond dis in fah twrash."
He reached into the pocket of his pj's and took out a shiny thing. GAbby looked at it more closely. It was her fathers old wedding ring!
"Give me that!" She said, taking it away from her brother. "I fwond it! I want it!" "Where did you find it?" "Im mommys room. I was wooking frew her trash betause she could have put a suker in dewr. But I fowned Dis ring instead." "Seriously? Why would mom do that? This is horrible!" She yelled. "Can I pwease hawve it back?" he asked. "No! Who do you think I am? I wouldnt give you this for the world!"
Simon started to cry. It was the only thing they both had of their dad. Simon was weaping for it. He really wanted it. and it wasn't fair for her to have it. Gabby thought for a minuet. Her brother bearly had any memories of him, let alone any of his things. She felt bad and gave it to him.
"I'm sorry," She said. "You deserve it." Simon wiped the tears from his cheeks. "Tank woo." He said. He stalked off into the hallway, and then put the ring away in his room.
Gabby stred into space. Thinking to herself. Why would mom throw away his wedding ring??

Cool! You even found a good part for the brother to fit into! This reminds me of a book I read called Griffin's castle. I like how the story's coming along. Keep it up!
