Viverpaw had scented Waterclan too. "I think we're almost to the border." she said. She walked farter and saw no cats. Copperpaw was keeping up pretty well, and her mood had staarted to improve. She walked with a much calmer air around her, but she wouldn't have the same bubbly and ready to go attitude that she had once shared. Soon, after a while, they reached camp and she saw Hazelclaw waiting for someone to go with him. She padded slowly and calmly over to him, which she had never done before. She would usually run up to him and playfully tackle him. Hazelpaw turned and saw her and Copperpaw walking up. "You're back!" he happily cried. He walked over, a grin on his face.He noticed Copperpaw was back too. However, something had changed in them. Viverpaw seemed much less energetic, and Copperpaw looked as if he was fearfull to speak to her. "What happened?"he ased.

Copperpaw was about to speak when Fawnstep ran over to him from the nursery. "Copperpaw your safe!" She meowed and licked the top of his head like a kit. Copperpaw ducked under her tongue and frowned. "Of course Im safe, why wouldnt I be?" He loved his mentor to death, but somethings she just cared alittle too much. Fawnstep put her tongue in her mouth and laughed. "Sorry your a strong, smart, hard-headed apprentice, I guess Ive just been in the nursery too long." Copper nodded, but shook his head and laughed. "Wait a sec-" but before he could finish his sentence Fawnstep ran toward Goldenstar to tell him the apprentices were back. Copperpaw rolled his eyes then looked at Viverpaw wondering what she would tell the deputy.

Viverpaw looked up at him with a stern face and clearly stated;
"I and the loner escaped the two legs, and he helped me get a snare off of my neck. Then we went to a cave where there was a whole pack of rouges, and their leaders name was Carvern. The one I was with was named Sharp. The others were Lalughe, Fang, and one other I can't remember. While they were seeping , I decided to head back to camp, then got attacked by a patrol. Sharp and the rest helped me chase them ot, and we were attacked by several other partrols, while Carvern had sent Laluche with him to keep them away, and we heard a fight so we came over. Copperpaw and the rouge had mistook eachother. The rouge thought Copperpaw was part of the patrol til I told him he was a friend. Then they escorted us halfway here. After that, another patrol came up and we attacked them, and Copperpaw told us to let them go so we did. Then we parted with them and came back here." Said Viverpaw. Hazelpaw had his mouth open, and stared at her and Copperpaw. All of that had happened, and NONE of them were killed? And then Viverpaw had explained it like a hunting patrol would at a gathering. Copperpaw looked like he knew it had happened, but it was hard to beleive, Viveraw giving him a hard stare. She had told him the truth, so she didn''t see what the problem was.

Copperpaw looked at the deputy's face and nodded. "It's true." He could tell Hazelclaw had a hard time believing them but it had all happened exactly like Viverpaw had said, well the parts Copperpaw knew about. Looking back at Viverpaw he didn't see the excited, happy-go-lucky apprentice anymore. She was more calmer, and alittle defensive. Yawning Copperpaw hadn't noticed how tired he was until he saw the apprentices den. Getting up he looked at Hazelclaw and let his ears drop back. "I think Im going to rest alittle bit, this day's been too full of excitment" Walking inside the apprentices den he lay at his nest happy to rest his paws and closed his eyes letting sleep take over him.

Hazelclaw nodded. "I'll explain to gold star. You should rest too, Viverpaw. You've had a long day, and it might help you." he told her. She nodded and walked off to the apprentices den to where her moss bed was, and immediatly slumped down to sleep on it. She hadn't even looked up to see Copperpaw sleeping in one a fw tail lengths away.

Hazelclaw walked over to Goldenstar and the opthers."Both apprentices have returned." he reported. "However...something seems to have changed with Viverpaw. I don't know what, but...she's not the excited and bubbley apprentice I once knew." Hazelclaw confessed. She had only been out of camp for a few hours and it had changed her entire personia.

Copperpaw felt a tug on his pelt and groaned. Wondering who would wake him when he just started to fall asleep he opened his eyes expecting to see another appretnice but instead saw a branch covered in soft white snow pressing on his fur. Blinking he looked around and stood up eyes wide and feet cold. There was snow falling all around him, looking toward the sky he smiled. "Im dreaming..." He murmered and began walking on the fresh snow. Everything seemed at peace as he walked through the camp but a sudden yowl from somewhere in the distance made him shiver with fear. "What's going on!?" he mewed, and ran out of the camp into the territory. Another yowl sounded as he ran through the tree's trying to pin-point the sound. Runnning faster and faster, he yowled trying to find the cat who was making all that noise. "Who there? Is anyone hurt!?" He yowled and felt the snow get warmer under his paws. His heart seemed to burst from his chest as he looked down to see the snow red with blood. "What's going on...." he whispered and walked back into a sharp thron. Yowling in pain he opened his eyes to see the apprentice's den again. Viverpaw was a fox-lenght away sleeping soundly in her nest and cat's were busy doing their duty's and talking about today's events. Heart racing in his chest Copperpaw shook and curcled into a tight ball, hoping he would never have a dream like that again.

Viverpaw woke to startled yowling and looked over to Copperpaw. He seemed to have woken up from a nightmare. She padded over to him, and gently prodded him with her paw. "Are you alright?" she asked. He looked pale-like he'd seen a ghost. She looked him over and sighed. "Do you want me to get our med cat? Or are you fine?" she asked. A few berries wouldn't do too bad for him.

Copperpaw twitched feeling Viverpaw's paws poke at him. Turning over to face her he looked to the ground and sighed. "Im fine, it was just a bad dream....I must have ate some bad prey this morning...." Turning over again he stared at the den wall and tried not to think about the yowling cat, or bloody snow. Putting his tail over his nose he closed his eyes and waited for Viverpaw to speak or go back to her nest.

Viverpaw shrugged, but she was a little nervouse. SHe went back to her nest to sleep, and found it quite easy. There wasn't really much going on, sop she needn't worry.
