Paintedleaf watched in the medicine cat den as Scorchheart helped with the tom. The tom moved his shoulders alittle but didn't make a noise or another move except breathing. "I wonder what he was doing so close to the border...." She questioned and began licking an other wounds he had.
Duskstar sprang down from the Highledge as soon as she saw another cat being brought in, and no one came to report to her. Her eyes narrowed slightly. The cat had looked injured, but why had no one bothered to tell her? A dark anger broiled within her belly, and she shoved it away, blinking quickly and pushing into the medicine cat den. "What's going on here? Why wasn't I told of any of this?" No matter how much it seemed like they were trying to undermine her as a leader, the safety of her mousebrained cats came first, and she had to know if a threat had been brought in.

"If that was meant to be comforting, it was not."
"Everyone dies eventually. Once you are born, you begin to die."
"That was not comforting either!"
"It is the way of the Creed. Usually our deaths are violent but quick."
Scorchheart spotted Duskstar and ran over. "Sorry for not coming sooner. We just got to camp ma'am." she said. "Paintedleaf found this cat out in our terra close to the border with a large gash to his side. It looks like it could have been caused by a badger or-" she hesitated, tremembering the fox scent she'd reported earlier. "A fox-THere must be one around." she murmered, trailing off.
Paintedleaf watched Scorchheart go talk to Duskstar. Looking at the ground she knew she should've told the leader before anything. Turning her head she watched the tom's breathing and hoped he would live, she wanted to know what creature did this to him and who he was.
Jaggedpine advanced over to where the tom was and everyone else. He was kind of angry that they hadn't told Duskstar, but this seemed too important to think about telling authorities right now. He waved his tail and looked at the cat. He scented the air. "He has no clan scent on him," he remarked pawing the tom's side gently. He moaned softly and shifted.

Paintedleaf watched the deputy observe the loner, wincing for him as Jaggedpine touched his side. The tom opened his eyes and blinked in his surroundings. "W-where am I?" He looked at Jaggedpine and tilted his head. "Who are you?"
Scorchheart turned from Duskstar to the TOm. His wound seemed better, but she needed some more cobwebs. SHe fetched them and started to wrap them lightley around the gash. "You're in our territory. We found you unconscious." she said, answering his first questions. She didn't know how to answer the other one though. SHould they give their names to him? SHe had no idea, but she wasn't going to let him keep bleeding.
The tom tilted his head and looked at Scorchheart."All I remember is a calico cat picking me up and bringing me here and then waking up to see all of you..." He spoke quitely and looked at Paintedlea. "It was you." Paintedleaf nodded and stard at him. "Whats your name?" She questioned. The tom thought for a momnt then frowned. "I...dont know..."
Jaggedpine gasped and crouched at the tom's side. "My name is Jaggedpine, the ThunderClan deputy," he said, agitated about this cat. How didn't he know his name? Remember, he corrected himself. "What do you remember happening before Paintedleaf picked you up, or can you remember that far?"

Scorchheart hesitated. He was suffering from amnesia? So maybe..but wait, they had to see if it was real. "Do you know where you live, or where you came from, if you have any friends?" she asked him. If he was lying, then she would tell immediatly. SHe looked to Paintedleaf. "At least he remembers something..." she muttered. Maybe he was telling the truth, but she had to know.
