Ooc: Okay, I agree, so let's begin. It's the morning before they have the dream, k?

Ic:Jaggedpine sat there in the camp, watching the first lights of dawn streaming through the sky. He waited patiently for those who were supposed to go on the dawn patrol to wake. His tail flicked slowly. There was nothing he'd rather be doing the moment than what he was doing. Sitting in the warmth of Greenleaf, the ThunderClan deputy, alone in the camp, thoughts calling to him. The tom yawned and stretched his tired muscles before padding toward the warriors' den and peering inside. Midnightstep, the beautiful, skinny she-cat that was supposed to lead the patrol, was stirring and in a heartbeat she was awake. "Midnightstep!" Jaggedpine called in, just loud enough for the cat to hear. She looked his way and nodded. Jaggedpine nodded back and turned back to the camp.

Flicking her ears Paintedleaf looked out from the side of the warriors den and saw Jaggedpine waiting for the dawn patrol cats to wake up. Stretching she flexed her claws and stood up shaking her pelt from the moss that clung to her. Looking over at the warriors den she saw someone moving in the it and smelled Midnightstep coming out. Paintedleaf had never liked sleeping in the dens, even when she was a kit she would sneak out at night when she could and lay down at the nursery entrance. She loved the smell of the fresh air and didn't like feeling crowded in a almost closed off den. Walking over to Jaggedpine she sat down next to him and looked up to the sky. "Mind if I come on the dawn patrol with you?" She spoke to the deputy and looked back down at him.

Aurapaw was walking out of the medicine cat den holding some of mouse bile on a stick. Her nose wrinkled up. She walked into the nursery and said "who has the tick?" A queen raised her tail and Aurapaw went through the queens fur until she found the tick she put the mouse bile on and the tick fell off. Aurapaw ran out washing her paws in a clean puddle and washed her paws and ran over to Jaggedpine. "Can I come with? My mentor wants me to find more herbs." Aurapaw asked

Jaggedpine nodded to the two cats. "Of course." Midnightstep then emerged from the warriors' den. Jaggedpine dipped his head to her. "Now all we need is Raspclaw and Flatpaw," he said, tail flicking. Midnightstep smiled at him.
"I'll get my apprentice," she said, then padded off to the apprentices' den. Jaggedpine looked back in and saw Raspclaw stand and shake his pelt and pad out to meet them.
"I'm here," the young warrior said eagerly. Since he was a kit, Raspclaw had had a slight rasp in his voice, and Jaggedpine always felt bad for him. Just then Midnightstep and Flatpaw came up to them.
"Okay, we're ready I believe," Jaggedpine remarked.

Paintedleaf nodded and waited for Jaggedpine to lead the patrol. She hoped they would go by Windclan territory and mark the borders again. A few small hills free of any trees or cramped in places were by that border and Paintedleaf loved running across them feeling the wind in her fur and paws touching the soft grass. Waiting for the patrol she walked over to the camp entrance and sat down.

Jaggedpine started toward the camp entrance with the others close behind. His golden eyes burned into the ground before him and glowed with concentration as they made their way toward the ShadowClan border. Somehow he felt the Paintedleaf wanted to go to WindClan. Maybe after ShadowClan's taken care of, Jaggedpine thought. His paws thrummed the ground as he picked up speed and heard the sound of the others on his tail. Every sense was alert, especially his sense of loyalty to protect his clan. It was this sense that made him deputy.

Paintedleaf noticed they were going to Shadowclan border first and her ears dropped alittle. Maybe we'll go there after she thought and pricked her ears up again. Following right behind Jaggedpine and Midnightstep she kept her nose up sniffing for any new scents as they went along.

Jaggedpine raced along until they reached the ShadowClan border. He stopped and looked back at the patrol. "There haven't been any patrols too close to the border, but let's still renew the scent marks," he said. He padded along the border, renewing the markers, then went back to the rest of the patrol who were finishing the markers. "Let's now go to WindClan," Jaggedpine suggested. But at that moment, a ShadowClan patrol burst from the brush on their side.

Paintedleaf had just finished her last marker and was listening to Jaggedpine when the Shadowclan patrol popped out of the bushes. Running toward her Thunderclan's patrol she crouched ready to attack but waited for Jaggedpine's signal. Her body tensed as she saw the rest of the Shadowclan patrol slowly come out of the bush. Hissing she spotted a warrior a few fox-lenghts away and narrowed her eyes. If there was going to be a fight she would try and take out the strongest cats first.
