Scorchheart nodded, looking around for a bit. "Yeah, do you want to go back now?" she asked. She walked to where Jaggedpine had burst out of the brambles and sniffed. No other scents lingered-except for the stale scent of a fox. "Hey, Jaggers, did you sniff over here? I smell stale fox. There might be one in the area." she said, her voice cracking a bit. If there was one, that meant the queens and kits were no longer safe.
Paintedleaf looked over to where Scorchheart was and walked over to her. Dropping the fish she smelled the fox den and shook her head. "It's too stale. If a fox lived there the scent would be fresher, but we should tell Duskstar just in case one decides to move into the territory." Looking at Jaggedpine she tilted her head. "What do you think Jaggedpine?"
Scorchheart sat there, her face with a determined stare. She wasn't going to beleive that just because the scent was stale, there wasn't another den near bye. She drank in the air yet again, scenting prey. She spotted a mouse over by a tree, and immediatly took her crouch, tail flat. She leapt at it, crushing its neck. She put it next to her fish. "Well, even if the scent is old, there could still be a den near bye." she said.
Shatterstep put down her mouthfull and sat down a smile on her face. "It's always wonderful to see a smiling face when you enter camp."she said her eyes had a playful light in them that most haven't seen for many moons. She always went to gather herbs when she needed to think or blow off some steam. Her early herbs expedition gave her lots of time to think and work through all the jumbled thoughts she had been having recently and left her in a light hearted and playful mood. "You seem to be in high spirits how has your day gone so far?" she asked her long tail wrapped gently around her.

"Well get there if its where we want to be and if not, well then I guess we never really lost anything in the first place."
Ebonycloud shrugged his shoulders, "Its been alright. I havent been much more than a lazy lump today though." His whiskers quivered in amusment. "I offered Duskstar a chance to race or have a fun game of catch more prey. Yet being a leader means she has to think of the clan first instead of fun." He tossed a wicked look toward Duskstar but she should be able to tell he was only joking. He knew that she had a lot on her small shoulders. He was older than her, not by much, but she had to much on her plate for a younger warrior. A sigh passed his lips as he turned back to Shatterstep. "Your apprentice isnt in camp right now. I think she went on a patrol with Jaggedpine. Tell me... How do you like being a mentor? I think i want to be one someday. Yet knowing me i wont ever have one. Not trustworthy enough." he snickered to himself, "I know i would just end up playing the day away and not training."
"It's good company and she is a quick learner but I'm afraid I'm too harsh on her." Shatterstep sighed as she thought of her apprentice. "You know I can be a little high strung at times and my sharp tongue doesn't help much. I'm very proud of her and she has proved herself many times but I'm just afraid that she might want to leave if I don't loosen up some." Her smile faltered abit at the thought of Aurapaw leaving her side. Shatterstep had never taken a mate and since her parents had both died she felt close to Aurapaw. She looked down at her hebs glad to have told this to someone.

Paintedleaf nodded and looked up at the sky. "Yea maybe Duskstar will send a patrol out later or something, but the sooner we tell her the better it'll be for the camp." Picking up the two small fish she had caught just moments ago she turned toward the direction of the camp and pointed to it with her tail. "Ima head..bachk to camph." She mumbled and began walking.

Scorchheart gave her a nod. "Alright, I'll head back with you. But first... what do you say Jaggers?" she asked, ready to shoot straight back to camp. But she wouldn't leave unless the Deputy gave her permission. She looked after Paintedleaf, and picked up her fish and mouse. Both of which weren't that bad looking at all, so they would be a good meal for Goldenstar and Ebbonycloud. Maybe she could catch something for Shatterstep.
Ebonycloud nodded softly, "Well if you think its a good thing then that only makes me want to be a mentor even more." He laughed but the underlying tone of his voice betrayed the fact that he really didnt want an apprentice at all. He wasnt to confindent when it came to that sort of thing. He always thought himself as the background kind of tom. There but no really important. Training an apprentice would be bothersome and difficult. Stil if Duskstar ever chose him he would certainly train a kit.
OOC: Oh geez thanks Ebony XD got the Rp leaders mixed up. Ill edit that in a minute.
IC: Paintedleaf ran the rest of the way to camp and walked in looking around. Everyone was up now and it looked like some of them were waiting for the patrol. Walking over to the fresh-kill pile she placed the fish next to the few pieces of prey left and stuck out her tongue. "Who knew fish smelled that bad when they get taken out of water." She mumbled and walked over to a sunny spot of the camp. Stretching her legs she layed in the nice sun and looked around the camp.
