ic:; Jake tried to fix the pot, but he ended up making it worse. With a groan, he tried one more time, scattering dirt everywhere. To top it off, the next time he tried, he ended up falling back on his butt, the pot falling and breaking. He swore once more, covered in dirt, sure to get a terrible grade for the day. "Always me," he said helplessly.

Sylvia had finished hers and walked over to Jake. Looking down at the poor guy covered in dirt he she helped him up and said "I've never seen somebody get so into the class they poured dirt on them." Laughing softly she added "If Sprout will give you a new pot I'll help you. I doubt that'll be you grade but you never know. Plus next time you'll be able to do it right and won't have to wear your project." Her robin blue eyes looked up at him while she waited for a reply.

Jake smiled down at Sylvia for a moment, caught in her beautiful blue eyes. They reminded him of the clear boston skies. "It's such a wonderful costume though," He grinned crookedly, shaking some dirt down onto her. She was just as tall as his little sister. Her silver hair was just as alluring as everyhing else about her. He let out a deep breath. Jake rubbed his neck, pondering. "Okay, I guess I could use the help," A nervous laugh escaped his lips.

Sylvia laughed as he got dirt on her "Let me go talk to Sprout. I'll be right back." she said touching his arm out of habbit. Walking over to the teacher she talked for a moment and then came back with a new pot. "Let's try no to break this one." she told him. "So how if you are this bad at Herbology, no offense, how did you get in here? Seeings how you have to pass the Herbology section of the O.W.L." Sylvia looked up at him not trying to be nosy just generally curious.

"Err," Jake laughed, "No idea. Just barely scraped up a passing grade I think. The OWL happened to be the one thing I could do right. Happed to be in almost all of my classes actually." He said, genuinely confused. He poked experimentally at the new pot. "So, what do I do now?" He flinched away from the plant as it reached at him.

Before Sylvia could comment on his OWL statement she grabbed his hand as he pulled it away. "It won't hurt you, it's only a baby right now. Although I wouldn't advise playing around with it or sticking your finger in its mouth. Wouldn't want you to end up like Malfoy." Sylvia placed his hand around the base of the Mandrake Root."Now, when I saw go I want you to pull him out of this pot and move him into that one. After he's in there take the dirt out of here and cover him up. Got it?" Her hand was stil resting on his to make sure he didn't go before she told him to.

Jake laughed nervously as Sylvia explained the plant to him. She wanted him to pull the plant out of the pot and into a new one. The little plant that leaned toward him. The thing that bit somebody. She wanted him to touch it. He just stood there behind her like an idiot, so she reached back and grabbed his hand, placing it around the top of the plant. Her hand was warm. He was aware of where his chest touched her shoulder. Most of the class had discarded thier robes as they entered the greenhouse, so he sported a button-down blue shirt with tan shorts. She was wearing shorts and a tank top. He could feel happiness and a carefree air radiating from her like warmth. As descretely as possible, he curved his chin and sniffed her hair. It was like vanilla, and fruit, and the beach, and it made him smile and forget what he was supposed to be doing.

IC: Sylvia's hand was still over his and she moved it slightly when he tried to pull away. "Relax. I promise you it's not going to kill you." she told him laughing at how unsure he was with the baby like root. She squeezed his hand gently "One, two, three." she said and let his hand go so he could move the plant to the next pot and cover it up. She hovered near him incase he started freeze up or heaven forbid drop it. That would be slightly heart wrenching for her to see the root dropped on the floor.
