After a few more tries, Brooklynn finally drew the nose perfectly. Right as the bell rang. It was their assignment to draw a picture of still-life, and since she loved puppies... she drew a Jack Russel terrier. She smiled and handed it to Mr. Stockman as he came by to grade the drawings.

Dave stood up from the desk when the bell rang and quickly put his pencil and notebook in his bag. He had Gym next the best part of the day, next to leaving for him that is. Putting his backpack on he walked past Tyler and patted his back. "Nice talkin to ya, bud." He walked to the door and headed for through the halls for gym. Although he didnt have any extra gym clothes he would find a way to play and if not at least he wasnt working or writing notes for class.

Patch drew a willow tree with twisted branchs and a orb of light coming through them that represented the moon. He wasn't much of a drawer but he sure oculd color and shade things so he used that to his advantage to make it look better. He used about three black color pencils a white one and a few random greens in the process but the end result wasn't too bad. All that he cared about was passing the class and moving on to the next quarter.
Sylvia looked over at Patch's paper, and gave him a little, weary smile. "That unusual," she said to him. "I mean, it's a willow tree, but yet, it doesn't look like one." Giving him a little shrug, she took back her drawing from Mr. Stockman, which she got an 100 on, and smiled, putting it into her bag, along with her drawing pencils. After Mr. Stockman went around, grading the other drawings, he went up to the front of the room. "Self portraits," he finally said. "It's what we're doing today."

Patch smiled at her and shrugged "I'm really no artist. I just have an eye for color and shading." Turning in his seat he looked at the board and listened to the teacher tell them about their assignments. 'Self portraits? So we draw ourselves or draw our partner? I'm so effing lost,' he thought to himself and then looked at Brooklynn hoping for her to clarify the instructions they had just been given.

"Well get there if its where we want to be and if not, well then I guess we never really lost anything in the first place."
Tyler stood up and followed Dave out of the room. "And you," he joked. He actually wanted to find Brooklyn, sort of. This time he couldn't push the feeling out. He started toward the art room, since he knew that was where she would probably be. He had art now, so he should he going there anyway. He stopped outside the door and leaned up against the wall, one foot propped against the wall. He started playing on his ipod while he waited.

"Self portraits. You draw yourself, silly." Brooklynn rolled her eyes, noticing that Tyler was standing outside, fiddling with his iPod. She sighed. The bell was going to ring soon. Mr. Stockman usually told the instructions before the bell rang, then clarified it afterwards. Shrugging, she looked at Patch. "You basically just draw yourself onto paper. Instead of drawing a dog, or a tree, for your instance, you draw yourself."
Tyler started getting impatient, even though he knew the bell would ring soon. He tapped his foot against the ground, but without his other one to support him, he nearly fell over. He muttered to himself under his breath. He hated looking stupid and clumsy around other people, especially the people at school. He put his ipod away and looked around the halls, when his mind started to wander again, to drawing stuff in art, and what he should say to...he shook himself back to reality.

Looking up, Brooklynn sighed. What was Tyler doing, standing outside? She shrugged, and the bell rang. Well, he was officially late. She looked away, not bothering to see if he walked in or not, and then suddenly asking herself why she cared about him being late. She rolled her eyes, at herself, and then looked up to Mr. Stockman. He got up, and then cleared his throat for attention. "So as said before, as some of you guys heard, we are painting self portraits today."
Tyler heard the bell ring and strode into class. "Sorry about that Mr. Stockman," he said, keeping his head low. He sat down in the back, trying to listen, trying to keep his eyes off Brooklyn. He thought about his self portrait. He'd never been all that good at art. He started drawing a circle, thinking about how he should make himself look.
