It's been a long time since we've been in the contact of our tribes. A long time. It all started when a disease smashed through the forest where so many animal tribes lived. Only this wasn't an ordinary disease, but we didn't know that at the time. Everyone in the whole forest, no matter what animal, who was infected with the disease, were sent away to a wasteland, where there is hardly any food or water. It's far from anything sustainable of growing vegetation for prey to live off of, but it's not like our tribes care. They just didn't want us spreading the disease. So, all of the outcasted animals from the forest joined together, no matter what species, and lived in harmony. We barely are etching out a living here, when the effects of the disease began to take hold. We went through a strange transformation, where oddities grew on us. Wings, minor healing abilities, superspeed, we just woke up and they were there. One ability each. Now, a new threat faces the forest where our tribes live. Giant animals, almost of mutated size, arrive in the forest one night. They're dangerous and powerful. They have the power to wipe out every living thing in the forest. Normal animals can't take them on alone, but maybe a group of not-quite-so-normal animals can...
So, you play as one of the mutated animals kicked out of their tribes due to the disease. You've lived on your own for a long time now. You can choose any animal that would live in a forest, so no polar bears and lions, sorry. You can choose ONE special ability for your animal.

Ooc: Okay, I'm not sure exactly how many people will be joining this rp, so in that case, I suppose with three we can begin.
Ic: Taroc carried his catch back to where everyone else was. His catch was basically a few insects that probably wouldn't make much difference or penetrate the hunger they all deeply felt. He was walking, because he didn't feel like flying, no matter how much his feet hurt. He was tired, and even though he mostly walked, it was still rather awkward for him since he was an eagle. He reached the others in the makeshift lean-to village. It was just a few piles of logs and sticks that served as dens. Taroc dropped the bugs in the center of the village and flew to perch on top of one of the dens.

Akumu jumped from his log and trotted over to see what the eagle had dropped into the small pile. "bugs?" He thought. He turned and looked at his exausted friend. "well, at least he's trying." Akumu picked up one of the insects and ate it slowly. Making sure Taroc could see. He grinned. "Thanks Pal," he said allowed. "This will stop my stomach from grumbling," or at least, thats what he had hoped. He sat down and began licking his chops to assure he had no leftovers on his chin. Then, he slowly began trotting back to his den.
Taroc nodded to Akumu as he ate some of the bugs. Well, if Akumu could do any better, Taroc would like him to let him know. He dropped to the ground and looked at the remaining insects on the ground. He picked up a rather large one and snapped it up. It was nasty, but it's not like he wasn't used to it. He flew back up to his perch and cast his senses out. He always tried to sense his old tribe in the forest, and, although his senses reached the forest, he was never able to find anyone from his tribe. Now, though, as he searched the forest, he sensed that something was amiss. There was something not right. He could hear giant footsteps in the forest. That had never happened before. He opened his eyes and snapped back to the present. Giant footsteps? Was there something new in the forest? Even if they'd kicked him out, Taroc still cared about his tribe. He brushed the thought off.

Akumu sat on top of his ten, looking at the sky. Had he been taught to fly, he'd be able to put his wings to use. But his mother died before he even got a barking lesson. He bowed his head and fluffed his wings. He felt useless. He hadn't been hunting or anything, and he was always so tired. He wasnt much of a contributor. He glanced as his dark wings, wishing they would work. He could flap them, not never take off, he glanced at Taroc once more. He was a strong bird. Perfect. Maybe Taroc could teach him how to fly. Maybe it was key to locating his sister. The only other from his tribe. He knew she was alive. He just knew.
Madaly lapped at her tathered fur. It had a tangy taste to it. She hated being so filthy, but what choice did she have? "all I want is to find one place with fresh water. A river maybe? Or a pond? Some body of water I can just jump into!" she grinned at the thought of it. "have you seen anything on your travels, Akumu? Or you, taroc?" she looked up from her bath with pleading silver eyes.
