Gingerpaw knew the mother had followed her, but only for a few seconds. She had turned around to protect the rest of her kits. She had done it. She had stolen a kit. She couldn't breathe. Couldn't think. Her eyes were hard, and emotionless. When they were far enough away, she slowed to a trot. The kit had stopped squirming and mewing, but she could feel it shaking in her jaws. She sat it down between her front paws and looked at the others. She felt they were lucky to get away without a fight, but she could see some of the others wished they had had a fight. Darkstar wouldn't be impressed, but she knew he would feel proud of her for getting the kit. Without waiting for anyone to say anything, she picked up the kit again and padded ahead of the others towards Tigerclan. Soon, she'd sat this kit down in front of Darkstar. She wouldn't give him any emotion like she normally did. They'd done what he ordered. And she just proved that there was apart of her capable of truly horrible things. Just like any other Tigerclan cat. The strange thing was, she didn't feel anything. Whether it was shock or something else she didn't know. But she didn't stop, she just kept on padding forward.
A purr of amusement escaped her lips at what Normandy had said, the pretty she-cat's colbat eyes held his for a moment. "Neither do I." Was the reply that came outof her mouth, "What's the point of these "tests"? I always thought that I was going to become a warrior, then settle down and have some kits, maybe train an apprentice or two. But having come from a differen clan, well that changes that. I'll probably end up with hardly anytime for that. What a wimsful thought, isn't it?" Her breath stopped in her throat as she looked ahead.

Normandy smile easily, "Oh but isn't that the wish of all of. Just to settle down with a family." He looked forward, his eyes bearing in to Bearfur's back, "Unfortunately for us however, there are those who only wish to make war... And they ensnare us in to fighting their battles." His gray flecked tail lashed back and forth for a moment, "With the invasion coming up soon, none of us are going to have much time to sleep, let alone do anything else." Normandy sighed harshly for a second, "But all of this is beyond me. I'm just the grunt that does the dirty work." He sent the pretty she-cat another smile, "Whatever it is that are task is, I just hope that it won't kill any of us." He turned his eyes forward finally to see what had made her breath catch in her throat.

As the thought of the mission ahead dawned upon her, Petaldancer gave a short snort of anger,"It will probably be a task of great difficulty, but it seems this is the favored group out of all the others." With a look of hidden doubt, her eyes traveled back to Normandy," He expects us to do well." Her eyes flashed her eyes towards Bearfur's back and than exhaled deeply, her nerves starting to get the best of her. As she shook out her autmn and ivory pelt out a cloud of dirt expeled from her body. "That is quite disgusting."

"Hey!" Icepaw called to her, quickening his pace and pulled her aside. "You did what you had to. There is nothing we could do. At least there were no casualties." Icepaw said with a concerned tone. "I'm sorry we had to do with. I so sorry, but we had to." He looked into Gingerpaw's emotionless eyes with his own blue ones. "This isn't your fault." He mewed with a softer tone, trying to ease her stone-wall self.
OOC; I'm not sure what to do when it comes to Bearfur since he hasn't told us the task yet... So I guess we can always have the badger just... Jump out at us XD
IC:
Normandy kept walking beside the she-cat easily a laugh passing from his mouth at the dirt cloud. They had traveled a good distance southwest of the camp. Personally, Normandy didn't know where they were going. However Bearfur seemed intent on his destination. Sighing softly Normandy murmured, "Well, Darkstar's favor isn't something you really want... He'll make you do the hardest of tasks since you are "capable" of doing them... Though I suppose its better than the alternative. Being that small tabby that came with you... What's her name? Oh Nightfang... Being her isn't going to be easy in these tasks. I figure there is going to be at least one cat that doesn't survive these challenges. If its not her, then I don't know who." He turned his eyes toward her, "Hopefully not you. You're nice at least." Up ahead a deep grunting sound could be heard. The dank smell of badger caught itself in Normandy's nose. "Oh great Starclan... You've got to be kidding me! A badger?! Is that the task?!" He shouted to Bearfur's back, not caring if their quarry had heard him. After a moment he realized that he was being ridiculous and silenced himself.

OOC: hahahahhaa! I lol'd Ebbs! xD "So I guess we can always have the badger just... Jump out at us XD" hahaha :D
Gingerpaw sat the kit down, and looked back up to Icepaw. "I know." She said, and stared at him for a moment, then picked up the kit and headed off again. It sort of disturbed her that she didn't feel anything, maybe it was because the fact that it happened hadn't completely settled in yet. They were going to be back to the camp soon. They had finished the task extremely quickly. She didn't know if that was a good sign or a bad sign. But at least they finished. Darkstar probably didn't care about the time it took them to complete the task, only that they completed it. The kit had fallen completely limp now, but it still let out a few small mews every now and then. Her paws prickled like they were asleep as she padded towards the camp.
As rancid smell wafed into her pink nose, the she-cat gagged. "Great Starclan!" She exclaimed, as a coughing fit fell upon her. The stench was so dreadful that it seemed she could even see the pungent waves drifting from the bushes up ahead. The great onyx and ivory head of the badger appeared through the bushes, as if it was answering Normandy's question. The badger let out a snarl, it's many teeth ratling from the vibrations of the ferocious growl. Petaldancer let out a loud hiss as it turned it's head toward's the grop of cats.
Normandy cast a sideways glance at Petaldancer, all the cats in the group began to move in order to assume attacking positions. He nodded to himself knowing that she could take care of herself, otherwise she wouldn't be in this group. Swiftly the tom launched himself at the badger, he ducked under a massive paw and headed for the back end of the badger. Sandtalon and Sharpfang wove in an out of each other in order to confuse the creature. He didn't, however, manage to see what Petaldancer and Bearfur were doing. Instead he focused on what he was doing, he bit deeply in to the creature's hind leg and didn't let out. The badger came crashing in down on top of him. Normandy collapsed under the weight but he did not let go. He succeeded in immobilizing the badger, now it was up to the others to do their jobs and help him.
The she-cat let out a yowl of determination as she moved swiftly into attack positon, with a short bound she landed atop the broad back of the badger. Using a move, Petaldancer had created when she was an apprentice, the she-cat slid her paws over it's berry eyes. The badger thrashed around, trying to remove Petaldancer from it's back. She suddenly sunk her front claws into the soft skin around the badger's eyes. The badger gave a loud grunt of overwellming pain, as it threw Petaldancer. The sound of a loud thud echoed through the battle as the she-cat landed on her side, a grunt of pain escaped her lips. She slowly got to her paws her eyes held a stunned look.
