Clambering out of the den, Bearfur stifled a yawn only to see Darkstar emerge from his den. Finding Shadestreak beside him, Bearfur nodded in greeting. He and Shadestreak had become allies of the sort, finding a common ground that, despite their outward appearances, they weren't terribly shady toms. Linking eyes with Darkstar, Bearfur grunted as a good morning to the leader and situated himself beside Sablepaw grumpily. He wasn't exactly hungry, nor was he in the mood to put up with anyone's attitude. The previous day had been rough and taxing, both physically and psychologically. Hearing the young tom's words, he leaned so his head was even with the apprentice's. Softly, so only the young tom could hear, Bearfur whispered, "Just stay safe. For as long as Darkstar intends, this is your home." And just like that, he sat up straight, as if he hadn't just comforted the apprentice. Turning towards Nightfang, he sent her a glance. "My next actions are nothing personal, my dear. However, follow along." With that, Bearfur stood, his jaw set taut. "Darkstar," he snapped, staring at the leader with bored eyes.
Strolling into the clearing calmly, Kestreleye eyed the scene with disinterest. He had returned early that morning, not much for the better. Many cuts adorned his fur, dried blood blending in with his fur. He had retrieved the fang and managed to not lose a cat. Yet. He had heard of Normandy's passing and mourned for the kind tom. The LionClan cat had shown their worth, however, like he expected, the LionClan ferocity was nothing compared to the TigerClan aggressiveness, with the other cats fearlessly fighting the dog.

Cliffheart had been awake since dawn and was now arguing with Stormfoot about something-or-other, when he noticed Nightfang and Sablepaw appear in the camp. He flicked his tail and hissed to Stormfoot, "Bug off, fox-heart!" With another challenging flick of his tail, Cliffheart bounded over to Nightfang. Bearfur had joined them, and Cliffheart gave the large tom a nod in greeting before sitting on Nightfang's other side. "Good morning," he said to her and Sablepaw, but his eyes weren't bright as they normally would have been. He'd heard from Stormfoot that there was going to be another task today, and that filled his whole body with worry. What now? Slaughter a LionClan cat?

The nightmarish land of dreams met her as the she-cat finally drifted off into slumber. The panic yowl of a cat still rang in her ears as the auburn head hit the soft moss. "No! No,please stop it!" She yowled as the greusome scene appeared hazily at first, in the world of dreams. The onyx night loomed over her as she watched Normandy struggle to breath, the blood coming up before he could gasp for breath. Her aqua eyes filled with irredescent tears of dismay and heart-wrenching pain that caused her to cry out. The only thing that could have made this nightmare worse appeared in the seconds after, Normandy died choking on his own crimmson blood. Following the horrible cry was the faintly metallic scent of blood, drifting in on the breeze, laughing at her. A smile appearing on the badger's maw, a cruel sly grin that promised nothing but pain. The nightmare ended in a flash of blood and then as if it were recorded, it rewinded and played again.
The brisk noises of the outside world zapped Petaldancer awake more efficiently than a bolt of lightning would have, crudely wrenching her from her land of terror. The scene still coursed through Petaldancer's body like a mix of ice and fire bent on conquest. Oh, and they were quite successful indeed. Beneath her messy long fur, the she-cat quivered, her fear easily to scented to one who looked for it. His death, Normandy's death had shown her that death took only seconds to spread it's gready hands upon the poor tom. The she-cat would never want to witness another cat's killing, and if it was inevitable she'd try to be unaffected, but yesterday was the day of day's. She barely managed to relax again, realizing that the others had retreated to the outside. The seh-cat shakily standed up onto her paws, her mossy bed a mess. Shaking, fur fluffed out, she hastily groomed herself, licking her auburn pelt roughly. Only then did she begin to pad out into the open, each pawstep heavier than the last in his dread. Darkstar looked across the clan grounds, with his superiorty clinging to the air. He scared her most of all. She sat down close enough to hear, close to her friends.

Nightfang smiled softly at Cliffheart, he had been so kind to her since this whole mess had started. She didn't know why though, it could be that he was their leader and felt responsible for what was going on. "Good morning," she mewed trying to change her thought.
Sablepaw looked up at Bearfur, curious as to what he meant when he spoke to Nightfang. It wasn't personal? What was that supposed to mean? All these grown up warrior things were only confusing the young tom. He shook he head to clear the thoughts and then turned to Cliffheart. He listened when Nightfang said good morning so he figured that was a good idea to say as well. He timidly mewed to the chocolate warrior, "Good morning."
OOC: I'll have the next task up in the next post ;D
Cliffheart smiled at Sablepaw, then looked down at his paws. The first task was hard enough, but now this next one should be even harder and more challenging. Then, he realized, he wasn't sure if Nightfang knew what had happened when Thunderstep, Whitewhisker, and himself had disappeared over the rise the day before. With a mischievous grin, he whispered to her, "Whitewhisker's life is at our clawtips now." His amber eyes flashed with light. He hoped that now things would be better in the way of Whitewhisker. Maybe the white tom would fear him a little more, and that couldn't hurt.

As the leader's eyes turned towards him, the entire clan went silent. "They say the first path to recovery is acceptance. And I have accepted." Darkstar's eyes were curious as the tom continued. "My actions last night... How pitiful," he spat, looking disgusted. "How I let such a worthless death get to me is beyond my comprehension. However, you have my word that I shall never be sent back to that... state of mind again." Looking Darkstar in the eyes, he gave a Cheshire Cat-grin. Leaning forwards, his voice became softer. "I'm glad I decided to come here, Darkstar. You've taught me so much more than LionClan could have ever taught me." Every word broke Bearfur's heart. But he swallowed and continued. "You've taught me that others don't matter. That to get above them... I must refocus and remember why I truly am here." Giving a rueful laugh, Bearfur grinned wickedly. "To gain power." Pausing, he put a contemplative look on his face. "However... I hope you know, Darkstar... just like I surpassed Shadestreak... I shall surpass you." Pulling back, he padded to sit beside a very stunned Shadestreak. "Now, now. Get on with your speech, leader," taunted Bearfur.

Icepaw looked over to Gingerpaw, his eyes will with concern. He did not like this new army that was being built, nor did he like the idea of these 'tasks'. Fear of what bad deed was next welled up within him. How were they do even do this without a doubt? Or maybe the doubt was good, maybe it was telling him to stop the evil he was doing. But Icepaw was loyal to his leader and clan, and unless there was ultimate proof to make hi mdo otherwise, Icepaw would always be loyal.
OOC; Pretty much we've all been set on tasks to prove our loyalty ;D It the next day and our characters are going to be sent on another task. I believe that your character is in a group with Kestreleye and Fawntail :)
IC:
Sablepaw's jaw dropped, how could Bearfur say that! He remembered that Bearfur was always a kind cat back in Lionclan. He sent a desperate look to Nightfang and Cliffheart, though he only saw a grim look on his cousins face. Perhaps she didn't know him as well as she thought she had. Gently Sablepaw pressed in to Nightfang's side. He hated it here.
Darkstar had grinned devilishly at Bearfur's former comments. However when he said he would surpass him, anger filled his voice, "You aren't strong enough yet whelp. I intend on doing Starclan's bidding and become the ruler of the forest. Don't make me kill you in order to do it." He snorted at his favored warrior and turned to leap on to the Fallen Log. Turning dramatically to the crowd he yowled, "Today we shall battle. Today your task shall be to spar with members of different groups. However the apprentice group shall only fight amongst themselves. While I relish in the death of the weak there is no need to kill our future." He turned his eyes to the newest apprentice to join their ranks. The small tom was hardly out of the nursery. This was good, he could teach him in the ways of Tigerclan easier. Turning back to the crowd he yowled, "Group 1 and 2 shall face off and group 3 and 4 shall face off. It is your leader's choice on who will fight who. As for the apprentices, Icepaw shall fight Blackpaw, Tigerpaw shall fight Gingerpaw and Pepperpaw shall fight Kinkpaw. Our newest apprentice Sablepaw will have his first battle against Pinepaw. Don't kill him yet Pinepaw, just show him the ropes. You will have the chance to prove yourself in the next round." Turning back to the crowd he yowled, "Each leader of each group shall have to decide which cats shall fight in a round. Pair off your cats until each of them has a different opponent. The winners of those rounds shall have to fight each other. This shall happen until there is only one pair from group 1 and 2 and one pair from group 3 and 4. I don't care if the two cats in the winning pair from the group 1 and 2 fights are both group 1 cats. Who ever wins that round shall fight the winner from the group 3 and 4 fights. This will determine my champion." He sharply looked at each cat in the crowd, "Any questions?"
