Fawntail's body stiffened. She had not known the now-unmistakable relationship between Thunderstep and Darkstar. Silently, she waited beside Kestreleye, unblinking, hoping someone would break the tense silence that had fallen upon her former Clan. As if them not being welcome here was drama enough! The discovery of the leader and Thunderstep's genetic bond just seemed to stir up even more unneccesary tension.
Darkstar sent sideways glances to his clan mates before circling around Thunderstep. The younger tom's eyes were defiant, his pose as solid as a rock. He had no intention of letting his father gain the true upper hand, instead he would think he had it. The golden brown swept his tail toward the Lionclan cats, "I left knowing you would not let me come back without a token favor." For a moment his eyes flashed, as if he had brought these cats as a sacrifice to sate his father's appetite, "I visited out rivals!" Cats around him hissed and yowled, as if he was preaching to them as their leader. "I saw that it as Starclan has told us! The Tiger shall defeat the Lion!" He let the roars of joy raise before he called out again, "The medicine cat of Lionclan has seen the way! The youth of Lionclan have seen the way and they wish to join us!" He looked around them as cheers of excitement rose around him. Yet his father continued to circle him, eyes like daggers. However he was beginning to show signs of unease. The more the crowd cheered the more support his son was receiving. Soon he would have no choice but to let these strangers in. "They are Lionclan! How can we prove they are loyal to our ways?" He sneered. "We train them, test them, let them show their worth," Thunderstep called out and more cheers arose. Inside he knew what sort of trouble he was going to have these young cats go through. He knew that each of them were going to be battled scarred and hardened warriors by the time it was certain that Tigerclan would attack. "Our time is coming father, let us accept them, but not without testing them first. We need their help," The clan fell silent now, all eyes turned to Darkstar, anticipation behind each eye. The leader stalked toward the group of young warriors, "Is it as Thunderstep says? Do you wish to see the err of Lionclan's ways and join the one true clan?" The leader turned hateful eyes toward his son, "Or has he merely told lies, and is he truly the traitor we know him to be?"
OOC: That wasn't an awkward entry Goldie :D It was just right ;D

Darkwhisker felt her body tense up. She didn't like the sound of whatever 'test' they were to do. Her tail hung low and flicked side to side slowly; her whiskers twitching impatiently. She felt very much unwelcome, but even more nervous as she stared upon the two cats. Father and son. Impossible... Her thoughts drifted. He seemed so unlikely, and so kind. Yet there it was, and there was no way in StarClan to change it. She felt a pang of regret, not trusting him as much as should should have. He had come to tell them a message, then he had guided them to TigerClan. If he wanted them dead, there most likely would have been an amush back on the travel. She felt her trust grow. He was Darkstar's son, and he was trying to stop his own father, instead of killing them all and joining his father's side. Darkwhisper felt gratitude knowing that he wasn't as evil as they thought at first.
Nightfang watched in horror as the father continued to shoot his venomous words to his son. Her eyes round with dismay, their plan was failing. If they couldn't convince Darkstar that they were here to join Tigerclan, then they had doomed themselves. In a rare moment of courage the she-cat moved away from Bearfur and stepped to the front of the group, only a mouse length from Darkstar. Her amber eyes grew bold as she yowled out, "We have come to join you! How dare you turn away our help! Starclan themselves has shown us the way, and you say you believe in them?" She saw fear flicker across Thunderstep's eyes as Darkstar moved toward her, yet she did nothing. The large leader narrowed his dark green eyes, "How can you prove what you claim?" "How can you deny it?" she retorted. A thin frown spred on the tom's mouth, "We shall see where your true loyalties lie." He whirled away from her and addressed is clan, "We shall see who they truly are!" Yowls rose in the clan and vicious laughs echoed in Nightfang's ear. Her legs felt weak, as if she was going to fall over. Thunderstep made his way back toward her and the Lionclan cats. He gently pressed himself to her side for a moment to steady her. The tom leaned down and softly whispered, "Thank you." She merely nodded at him as he stepped away again, trying to make it look as if she wasn't weak. No weak cats would be accepted here. Darkstar raised his voice again, "They start training in one hour. We shall see what they are made of." From there he stalked away to his den on the opposite side of the clan. However, before he entered it he whispered something to his deputy Sharpfang. With that he disappeared in to his den.
Thunderstep watched his father go, his heart pounding in his chest. They had managed to pull this off, for now at least. He had been surprised and scared when Nightfang stepped up to speak. She had been one of his biggest critics thus far, and yet she had managed to save his hind end. The crowd of Tigerclan cats milled about them for a moment, inspecting their new "clan-mates". Sneers and hostile laughter arose from them. One cat that Thunderstep recognized stepped closer to him. Her soft eyes sorrowful at the sight of him. He felt a pang in his chest for her. She was his sister, though looking more like their mother than her father. "Wintersong..." he breathed softly. She stopped in front of him, casting her orange eyes to the left and right before pressing her muzzle in to his chest. "I was worried you stupid tom," she whispered to him. He licked the top of her white and gray splotched head. "Heh," he laughed softly, "Don't worry so much, I said I would be back." Despite the love he held for his sister, he knew she believed whole heartedly in Darkstar's plan. It would break her heart if she new why Thunderstep had come back. Still, he kept his mouth shut. "Welcome back," she grinned as she pulled away, "Your new friends have a lot to learn if they are to join us for real." Thunderstep nodded, more than likely he would have to mentor one of his new clan-mates in the way that Tigerclan battled.
Gingerpaw admired the she-cat for stepping forward and speaking out how she felt. It took a lot of courage. So these cats were to join them? That was it? And they would have to go through their training? She shuddered. She hated the training. She didn't want to be able to rip another cat's throat open with one swift movement. Sure, she would fight when it had to be done, but she felt like all of this was needless bloodshed. Why would these Lionclan cats want to be apart of this? She padded over to Thunderstep and Fawntail with the others. She dipped her head to the Lionclan cats. "Welcome." She said, her young eyes light with curiosity. Did they know what they were getting into? Did they enjoy it? Like so many of the other warriors of Tigerclan?
Bearfur chuckled at Nightfang's courageous move. "Bold, Nightfang. Very bold," he commented. Nodding towards her in respect, he then looked at the cats who were scuffling with each other for no reason other than to fight, and came to the realization that he would have to be like that. In his mind he growled at that thought, since he had vowed to only unsheathe his claws for his clan. I suppose this is for my Clan, he thought solemnly in realization. Once again scanning the cats that surrounded him, he noticed that unruly tom he had batted across the forest floor to protect Emberfang and groaned. How would be explain that if the time came be?
Kestreleye stared at the cats before him. "Thunderstep, if they intend to become a part of TigerClan, they must learn the way of TigerClan," he reminded his friend, reitterating what Wintersong has told her brother. However, to him, many of the cats from LionClan did not seem to have any hatred within them. Not to say that did not have any fight. Merely that their beliefs obviously clashed with TigerClan. "And, ah, hello, Gingerpaw," murmured Kestreleye, bowing his head in greeting.

okay, then. unfortunately loving an idiot who doesn't love me back. but i'm not falling. i just kind of... am. .
Thunderstep nodded to his friend, a solemn look on his face, "Do to worry my friend. They will learn quickly. We all do." He sent an apologetic look to the rest of his new clan-mates. He sure hoped that Hornetstar and Cliffheart knew what they were doing by signing them all up for this suicide mission. The tom also hoped that when the time came, Kestreleye and Fawntail would join him. Perhaps others would see the true way of a clan, but then again they may not. This was only going to end up in a bloody war. The tom sighed heavily, nodding to his friends as he walked away in deep thought.
Night fang retreated to Bearfur's side, she never wanted to do something like that again. Yet she knew she would have to be even bolder if they were to survive here. A thought passed through the she-cat's mind, what if they really did succeed? What if did they managed to live here, train here? How could they cope when they went back to Lionclan? Each of these young cats would be battle hardened, changed in way that Lionclan wouldn't know. How could they go back? Another thought passed through her mind, the prophecy that Darkwhisker and Featherheart were always repeating, the two shall become four. What if these young Lionclan warriors were to be one of the new clans? All of these thoughts only made the she-cat dizzy. She cleared her mind and focused on the task at hand.
"Thunderstep!" Gingerpaw called out as she raced after the tom. "How come Fawntail and Kestreleye were with you? I thought you didn't like all this bloodshed? I thought that's why you left?" Her words fumbled out of her mouth quickly. She looked around to see if any of the others heard her. When she saw the heavy weight of responsibility in Thunderstep's eyes she shrank back a bit. "I'm sorry...I just...I don't understand a lot of what's happening." She shuffled her tiny feet on the earth.
Thunderstep turned his green eyes toward the young she-cat and said with a tired smile, "Its alright Gingerpaw. You might understand with time." He pressed a paw to her forehead and ruffled the fur there warmly, "Don't worry for now. All will become clear in the future. Just learn from Fawntail and stick close to her." He gave her a soft wink and sat down, wrapping his tail around his paws. "Just try to be as young as you can, as long as you can," He gave her another small smile and fell silent.
She purred as he ruffled her fur, and her light blue eyes danced with laughter. "Alright Thunderstep." She smiled and scampered off towards her mentor. 'Be as young as you can, as long as you can,' he had told her. That was something she could do. "Fawntail!" She called out and nearly collided with her mentor. She stopped, sat up straight, and licked her ruffled fur down. She always tried to be serious, like a warrior, but her eyes could not hide her excitement. "Now that you're back, can we hunt or something?" Her paws shuffled with desire, hunting was by far her favorite thing to do with her mentor. They were out of camp, alone, and together. It was perfect to her. And besides, maybe she'd get some answers as to why some of the light was gone from Thunderstep's eyes and why the Lionclan cats were here to fight against their own former clanmates.
