Yowls of horror sounded above my head. Though I didnt hear them.Well just let me start from the begining...It was a lovely day in new leaf my mother Rainpelt had just given birth to me,my sister,Snakekit,and brother,Fangkit.I was a standard kit, playing with my littermates, fighting with my mother, and getting in trouble for sneaking in the apprentice den more then once.But lets skip ahead to my apprentice ceremony."I,Firestar, leader of Thunder clan, call upon my warrior ancestors to watch over these new apprentices.Venomkit,please step forward.Brambleclaw, please step forward.Do you promise to teach this new apprentice all that you know?" Firestar spoke the words passed generation to generation. "I do Firestar" Brambleclaw replied in his low mew. "From this day on you will be known as Venompaw! VENOMPAW! VENOMPAW!" Firestar chanted and others joined.I touched noses with my mentor Brambleclaw. Then my sister got Squirrelflight as a mentor and my brother became a medicine cats apprentice. One day he hurried to me "Rainpelt has a terrible case of greencough and we have no catmint!" he yowled. "What?!" I gasped.
We did our best to find catmint but it was to late. Our mother was gone.I was broken.Nothing could fix me.Not my brother not my sister and not my mentor.Nothing. I was so broken that when Spiderpelts kits were born it didnt fix me. I was broken way beyond repair.But one day I met another apprentice I never cared for before.His name was Volepaw.He was very nice to me knowing I couldnt be fixed.But he fixed me.He was my world. We were bethrothed to become mates.Neither of us had a problem with that. We begged our mentors to train together more. His mentor had been my mother but now it was Berrynose. Volepaw tryed to kill Berrynose's bragging but not even my love could do that. We came closer and closer to becoming warriors and suddenly the day for our assesment was here. I caught two squirrels five mice and a thrush. Volepaw caught three mice two blackbirds and a vole. When the ceremony was over I was known as Venomheart his name was Voletooth my sisters name was Snakefang and my brother had already been named Fangmouth. Trust me, me and Voletooth didnt rush to have kits for we were still young, but Snakefang and a warrior named Harepelt had kits.Four to be exact.Poppykit,Thrushkit,Fernkit and Burntkit.Lovely kits they were but Poppykit had her mothers crazyness.Thrushkit had his fathers charm.Fernkit acted like me though we looked completely different.Burntkit acted like Harepelt sister Icefall and resembled her aswell.Though I wanted kits I didnt want my sister to think I was jealous. Suddenly my world was smashed.Voletooth was murdered by a rogue.His name was Sol.I hated him with all my heart.He was punished.By death. I was crushed though. Now there was no chance to be repaired.But one day Fernkit came to me and said that she was so sad about Voletooth "He was the best warrior besides Snakefang and Coonmask." she mewed sadly."And me" I purred to her. "Well you dont count. Your a legend!" she squealed.I smiled down at her and purred "Thank you my sweet, but this legend will never have kits or ever even love again." "Why not?" Fernkit mewled. "Because Voletooth is gone and I'll never love anyone like that again." I mewed to her.Suddenly my throat tightened and tears swam in my eyes as I thought of my sweet beloved Voletooth. "Whats wrong, Venomheart?" Fernkit looked at me with large eyes."Nothing." I managed to say. "I'm uh gonna go see if theres any hunting patrols" I rushed beside my former mentor Brambleclaw and said "May I go on a hunting patrol?" "Ah yes Lionblaze is just leaving right now you might as well join him." he mewed to me over his shoulder.I darted after them."Hi Lionblaze! Hi Sorreltail! Hi Dovewing!" I called to the patrol. They said hello.I stooped and sniffed and listened for a sound of prey I heard the faintest scratch and darted at a squirrel and killed it with a swift bite to the neck. "Nice catch!" Lionblaze mewed to me. He was holding a thrush in his jaws."Yours isnt bad either." I called to him. When we got back everyone circled the center of the clearing. "Why? Why...." It was Snakefang muttering to herself.Coonmask's body lay in the center of the clearing. Snakefangs four kits sat crying.I was devastated too.This brings us near the present.It was a simple training session we were practicing our tree fighting when suddenly Ratscar appeared on the branch in front of me.He gave me a hard shove sending me in the lake.I couldnt swim.I was drowning. I could see my clanmates yowling but couldnt hear them. Suddenly something caught my scruff. I looked up surprised to see Jayfeather. He pulled me to safety "Thank you soooo much!" I gasped "No problem" he muttered. But there was a problem. Its name was Ratscar.

Ratscar's smile was plain evil."You Thunder clan softies are clueless aren't you?" He growled. "No we're not. I know you killed Coonmask!" I yowled at him."Hmm maybe your not a mouse-brain." He murmured "None of us are you fox hearted coward!" I hissed. This guy doesn't know anything! I thought. "Hurry and go tell Firestar what we found." I growled to Cinderheart. She nodded as she darted off. "Oh yes send for that weak fur ball!" Ratscar laughed.I swung a paw at his face with my claws unsheathed. I hit him right on the eye. He hissed in annoyance before swiping at me. I dodged with grace. "Does Shadow clan not teach their warriors to fight well?" I mocked him. That got him going. He tried to hit me but couldn't. I laughed at him. Suddenly we were ambushed. All of Shadow clan was around. All. Even Blackstar. We were in trouble.
Firestar burst through the tunnel leading to thunder clan camp "Stop!" he yowled at the fighting cats "But I was gonna kill Ratscar..." I murmured "Its clear thunder clan won this time, but next time you wont be lucky" Blackstar panted. "Doubt that the way you cowards fought!" I hissed. "Stupid mouse-brains!" Ratscar called as shadow clan fled.Anger bubbled inside me. Firestar rested his tail on my shoulder "Its over Venomheart, calm down." He whispered. I nodded though I was still outraged. "You fought very well." Purred Leafpool. "Better then you liar" I heard Jayfeather murmur as we entered camp. "Er, thanks." I said. It was obvious that Leafpool had heard him though. There was hurt look on her face. "He loves you, ya know. In a son like way." I whispered to her. "Sure." She murmured. Bearpaw bounded out lashing his paws "To bad I was on a hunting patrol when that happened!" He growled. I smiled and said "Yeah you would've slashed 'em!" He smiled at me. "Let all cats old enough to catch they're own prey gather beneath high rock!" Firestar yowled. "We were ambushed today and we won but that doesnt mean we'll always win. So I want all border patrols to be on the look out for tresspassers." Firestar mewed. "Firestar, we need warriors and Bearpaw and Florapaw are the best hunters so I think they should become warriors now!" Daisy called. "Hmmm well your right Daisy. Bearpaw from this day on you will be known as Bearclaw may star clan light your path. Florapaw from this day on you will be known as Florapelt may star clan light your path." Firestar said hurriedly. "Well....... that happened fast." Bearclaw said. "BEARCLAW BEARCLAW BEARCLAW!!!!!" the clan cheered. "No fair! What about me?" Cowpaw said. "Well your not the best warrior" Cloudtail whispered. "Hey shut up!" Cowpaw growled. Yowls of fear split the air. I turned and darted out of the tunnel towards where the sound came from.
In shadow clan camp, Ratpaw was traing with his sister Tawnypaw "Ok your thunderclan and I'm shadow clan" Ratpaw mewed "No fair! You were shadow clan last time!" Tawnypaw yowled. "Hey! Kits come here!" Oaktail, they're father, called. "Coming!" they called "Mistpaw has finally been found" they're father said. They're sister, Mistpaw, had went missing during an awful storm. "I-is she d-d-..." Ratpaw couldn't bring himself to say it. "No fortunateley she was only scratched and bruised not to mention lost." Oaktail murmured. "Great! Where is she?" Tawnypaw squeaked like a little kit. "She's a medicine cat apprentice, where do you think she is?" Oaktail said affectenately.They darted towards Littleclouds den "Mistpaw!" They yowled once inside. "Ratpaw! Tawnypaw!" Mistpaw squealed "Talk to your littermates later, Mistpaw. We have work to do." Littlecloud said grumpily. "Yes Littlecloud." she whispered sadly. "Bye Mistpaw see ya around" Ratpaw said sadly stepping out of the medicine cats den. "That was rude." Tawnypaw growled. "Yeah." Ratpaw agreed. Rainfall, they're mother, stepped towards them "Wanna go on a patrol with me?" She asked. "Of course!" Tawnypaw squealed but Ratpaw didn't share her exitement "Sorry but I wanted to rest for the gathering" He said. Rainfall nodded "Okay" She said before heading for the camp entrance. He went to the apprentice den and slept. He opened his eyes to the dark forest. "Hello Ratpaw" hissed a voice. "Hi Mapleshade" He said as the barely visible she-cat appeared. "Have some respect, or Mapleshade'll claw ya" He reconized Blossonfall, a thunder clan arrior, at his side. She was only teasing though Mapleshade didnt like it. Claws raked Blossomfall's ear "Ow!" She screeched and returned a blow unexpectadely. "Ooh good one!" Mapleshade said rubbing her ear as well. "Um I need to uh go..." Ratpaw said and closed his eyes. Suddenly he was in the apprentice den. "Time to go!" Called Oaktail.
The four leaders stood tall on Highrock. Fastpaw looked at Ratpaw longingly for they were in different clans. She was in WindClan and he was in ShadowClan. Suddenly gasps filled the air. She turned to see her sister, Rustpaw, clawing Ratpaw up. Clouds covered the moon now. "Rustpaw! I exile you now!" Yowled Onestar. Fastpaw gasped "Rustpaw! How could you?!" "You fantasise about him being your mate! And Oakpaw wwill make a fine mate and you know but dont want to admit it!!" Her sister screamed loudly.
Fastpaw gasped "Your a fox hearted coward who should just leave your clan!" Growled, Bearclaw, a new ThunderClan warrior, who stood in front of Fastpaw in a protective way. "You, Fastpaw and Raincloud, get out!" Yowled Onestar. "What?! They did nothing Onestar! Let them stay!" Bearclaw screeched. Fastpaw was crying now. Suddenly Krestelflight lept up "StarClan says to let Fastpaw and Raincloud!" He yowled and the clouds blew away from the moon. "But Rustpaw must leave for disgracing WindClan!" Krestelflight added. Onestar nodded "Get out Rustpaw, now!" "Fine! Fastpaw, remember you dont have a chance with that pile of rabbit dung!" Rustpaw yowled before pelting away.
"Are you okay?" Bearclaw mewed to her, licking her cheek. "No I'm not! My sister just got exiled, you rabbit brain!" Fastpaw screamed at him. "You wouldnt like it if Cowpaw was exiled would you?!" "Hey thats no way to speak of my litter mate!" Bearclaw hissed at her. "Yeah? Well look at you! Your BEARCLAW and he's COWPAW, he is an apprentice!" She hissed right back at him. "Your sister deserved it." Was all Bearclaw said before turning and padding to Ratpaw. How could she let everyone know? She thought sadly. She did deserve it though..... She thought, crying heavily now.
