Troka felt a little nervous at the exchange going on between the human and the elf. She frowned slightly before turning to her bag. She gently pulled her prized wooden flute from it and held it up. "How about a song to commemorate our journey? To new friends and pleasant company!" She grinned happily, truly believing that they all might be the best of friends some day. She truly hoped they would. Turning her blue eyes from person to person it made her feel so small. These creatures were so much bigger than she was. She hoped they'd grow to like her someday, if only to keep her from getting trampled by them.
Ignoring his words, Ariana instead noticed the shift in Isel's mannerisms. "Well if you wanted me to be quiet you should have said so!" she said with wide eyes. Brow furrowing and nose crinkling in thought, she turned towards him. "You don't have to hide your eyes, you know. They're very pretty..." Her words were so childishly innocent and seemed almost borderline until she continued her statement. "Almost as pretty as his. I've never seen silver eyes before. Ah, well, it must be an elven thing." Pausing for a moment, she sighed. "So lucky!" Her doe-like eyes were full of a childish conviction as she spoke. "But she has pretty eyes, as well. I suppose it's humans who aren't so carefully gifted, yes?" Smiling, she laughed. "But our life - however short to yours - is just as beautiful because though we are not a long-lasting flame we are a beautiful display of arsony!" No one could really be sure how she had gotten there - nor how such a simple-minded irl could utter something so philisophical merely from eye colorations - though then again, if you were to ask her, she wouldn't know. She had, however caught Kaleo's words and smiled gratefully towards him. Once again her mind was blissfully ignorant and only noticing the little things most people would choose to over look or not notice. Hearing the prospect of a tune, she eagerly nodded.

Troka grinned widely as Ariana agreed to her song. Placing the flute to her lips, the young half-ling began a merry tune, light and happy. It was one of the songs of her people and one she loved dearly. The flute fluttered and tickled the notes she played making the son almost seem to laugh through the melody. Tapping her heel along with the song, Troka felt like dancing. However, seeing as she was playing the instrument it would be rather funny to see her dance. The melody continued joyfully for a good few minutes before she ended the song. With a smile she announced, "To new friends!"
Isel was bewhildered by Arianna's statement, that he bit his tongue. The stinging taste of iron-like blood made his nose crinkle up into a sneer. He quickly turned away from Arianna, and brushed his hair back over to one side in a flipped style. "Well you should forgive my attitude, for it is rare that I can find a human so child-like, yet so understanding of the innerworkings of the heart and the world." His soft tone held no bitterness, which hid a slight distain for his own embarrasment.
The way Ariana reacted was most interesting, perhaps one of the reasons she was here with the rest of them was because of the fact she was this way. He listened intently to the young half-lings song. She certainly had a gift, and life sparkled in her eyes like that of the sun on the open ocean. As she called out, 'To New Friends' he simply nodded. Joining in and shouting it out felt a bit ridiculous to someone like him. But he supposed what pleased others didn't have to please him. He was certainly learning a lot from watching and listening though. He had a feeling the majority of this trip would be him doing just that. It was easy for him to slip into the background and simply observe. Much like an owl observing it's prey before the kill, although Kal had no intentions of going in for any killing, it wasn't decent to kill the innocent, he would only observe.
Kayus leaned back against the edge of the edge of the boat and smiled as he watched the dark haired elf and the "fire-haired" young woman converse with one another. He'd only been paying partial attention to the other people aboard the ship while he was studying the engravings. As he watched them, he realized he had missed their names. Or maybe no one's given out their names yet, he thought. No, that can't be right. I'm sure I heard at least two people introduce themselves.
As he struggled to remember, a soft whistling sound cut through his thoughts. He lifted his head and noticed the half-ling was playing a flute. The smile returned to his face as his foot tapped along to the tune. Once the song ended, Kayus clapped his hands and said "Amazing! Wish I knew how to play that well."
Troka blushed and grinned at the male human's praise. She bowed her head and giggled, "Thank you! Thank you!" She sat up and looked out to see that they had already passed by the Great Gates of Tanarious. So they were actually on their way now. Around them stood enomous mountains that inspired awe in Troka. She raised her flute to her lips again and began to play a more mellow tune. It sounded like the wind gusting over a valley as it rose and fell through the cracks and crags. The melody followed the path of the mounts, her hope was that it inspired the same awe in her companions as the awe she saw in the mountains. Playing tune, she let it fall to be background noise. She hoped to create atmosphere while they traveled. It would make for a good story later.
Isel couldn't help but be captivated by Troka's music. A soft smile teached his lips, making the sneer-y faced elf angelic once more. He closed his eyes slowly and entangled his fingers together. He had not been around good company in a long period of time. Isel then reflected upon the words he had scorned Arianna with. He lowed his head and a somber frown removed his smile. He quickly glanced at Arianna, and said quietly, "I'm sorry for what I said earlier." He apologized. "I had not... Not had the pleasure of being around a knowledgeable human in such a long time." He said, brushing his thumb over the top of his other thumb. "It's... nice."
Tilting her head to the side at Isel's words, she replied, "My father says children understand better than adults." She gave a hearty grin and shrugged. "But I - personally - don't know. We are all the same. We speak to each other and we eat and sleep and are conscious animals. I see nothing different other than large differences. But why do those matter? And it is not the heart that I know of." With a smile she threw her head back and laughed joyously. "No, Isel, I know naught of the heart. I simply know." Turning away from him, Ariana sighed contentedly. Giggling as he song ended, Ariana clapped jubiously as she leaned on the edge of the boat. As the second song began however, a rather mellow and wistful smile came upon her face. "This one is beautiful. I enjoy it very much," murmured Ariana with a kind smile on her face. Turning towards Isel with surprise, she smiled. "All is forgiven, though there is no need to apologize. Words are empty and actions fill them. I am not knowledgeable, Isel. I just enjoy the pleasures of life."

Isel felt a chuckle escape his lips. "Perhaps I've just been too up tight and had not kept good company." He thought about what Arianna had said, pondering the meanings. She spoke like a poet, that of which impressed him. Humans aren't insignificant creatures as much. Isel's vision wandered over to the other human, who had still not introduced himself. Isel wondered what everyone's pasts were, and how they were called here, and for what reasons.
