Stormheart could not remember how long his nightmares haunted him. It was the same dream, every night. He'd asked the medicine cat for some poppy seeds to chase it away, but they never helped. Trying to shake his restless sleep off, he stretched his legs. The dawn patrol was not back yet, which meant nobody had been out hunting either. Stormheart decided to go hunting. The least he could do was feed his fellow warriors. His stomach rumbled in response. He noticed his old friend Elmfur was up. "Morning," Stormheart grinned with a flick of his tail, "Want to go hunting?"

Maplesong along with a few other warriors entered the camp, their paws weary from the long trip, but the borders were secure. The calico she-cat had chosen the dawn patrol mostly because Stormheart's whimpering and strange noises through the night had kept her up. Now her honey colored eyes were dully with lack of sleep, but at least she'd had peace and quiet out in the territory. As soon as she got back in to camp, she noticed the source of her problem was awake. She let out a low sigh and turned to her companions, "Go get some sleep. Starclan knows you can actually get some now." Amusement lit the various cats' eyes before the trotted away to sleep. Maplesong twitched her tail before stalking toward the two toms that were awake. "Good morning you two," she flicked her tail in greeting, but there wasn't exactly a cheerful tone in her voice, "You guys up for being put on a patrol?"
Elmfur smiled and nodded to Stormheart's question. "Let's do it," he said cheerfully, trying to blink the sleep from his eyes. That's when the dawn patrol walked into camp. He looked up to see the clan deputy, Maplesong. "Morning," he greeted her, and looked to Stormheart for him to answer her question.

Foxfoot yawned as she came out of the warriors den. It was an early morning and she didn't get much sleep. It was much pass moonhigh until she fell asleep. But despite the fact she was sleep deprived, she still was full of energy as usual. She passed Elmfur, Stormheart, and the clan deputy Maplesong. "Morning!" She called. "Lovely day isn't it?" Indeed it was a lovely day. Sunlight shafted down making her fur pleasantly warm. She was sure that it would be a very nice hunting day. "Are you guys going hunting? The pile looks more empty then a nursery without any noisy kits." There was actually a time when there weren't any kits in the nursery. It was only a quarter moon, but the elders complained that it didn't feel right that they weren't tripping over a kit every five seconds. She purred with amusement at the thought of elders being unhappy because they weren't topling down for some kit just rushed by. She turned to Stormfur. "What was the nightmare this time?" She sighed remembering why she was woken up.

Maplesong sent a grumpy look to Foxfoot who seemed more than chipper that morning. She lashed her brown calico tail back and forth in a bit of annoyance, "Yeah, they're going hunting soon. You can go with them." The deputy turned away and headed to the edge of the camp. Normally, Maplesong wasn't a grumpy she-cat. Right now though she wasn't exactly a happy kitty. She lay down under the warmth of the morning sun, her paws tired from trekking all across the territory. She rested her head against her paws and let out a long sigh. The she-cat might as well try and get some sort of rest.
Stormheart grinned at Maplesong. Perfect! That was just what they were headed to do. But before he could reply, Foxfoot came by. He kneaded the ground, uncomfortable with the amount of energy she had. As if in response, he yawned. He grinned at her joke though. He did miss having kits in the camp. It was also a little concerning. The apprentices were getting old. Maplesong stormed off, leaving him with a patrol. What was she so upset about? She wasn't grumpy unless something was actually up. Stormheart would ask her later. He assumed he'd lead the patrol, since he was the most senior warrior. "Well, let's go towards the RiverClan border. I always get good luck there."

Elmfur was a little concerned at Maplesong's abrupt leave, but decided not to let it bother him until he really knew what was going on. Instead, he tucked it inside his mind for later and turned back to the matter at hand. Foxfoot seemed really, really energetic, as usual. But he cringed a little at the joke about there being no kits. That was the truth, and it bugged him a little bit. He'd heard of this kind of thing happening before, but he never thought it might actually happen to his clan. But then Stormheart started talking about where to hunt, and he nodded to the older warrior. "Sounds good to me," he said, waving his tail, ready for the hunt.

Foxfoot nodded. "I hope we see some prey there." She sighed. "Greenleaf is supposed to bring more prey." Foxfoot thought for a moment. It would be nice to be more optimistic. The lack of prey brought many pretty down. "We should be heading out before the elders wake up. We don't want to keep them waiting." She joked. She knew that it would be unhealthy to be unhappy and snappish. After all fights could break out wasting more energy then prey could catch. Her usual energy bounced back in. "Lets go!"
Ooc: Do you think we should have a gathering? It would be kind of fun. Even in books, gatherings always bring in excitement. I also think on the patrol we should meet a RiverClan patrol... and unless this is in the old forest (Does 'classic' mean in the old forest or just a regular old warrior cats story?) how do we hunt on the RiverClan border?

OOC: Is it okay if I just make up the leader since I don't think we'll have anyone else join us? He/She'll be an NPC if that's okay with everyone :D
IC: Maplesong watched as the group moved out toward the camp entrance. She flicked her sleek tail back and forth for a moment once they were gone. The she-cat wasn't in the best of moods, mostly do to the increasing lack of food, and the complete lack of kits. Things were getting harder around camp, and it wasn't easy on her to keep moral up, not when she was pessimistic to begin with. Hopefully Stormheart's group would be luckier than most patrols as of late. It was getting harder to keep everyone's bellies full. Maplesong knew that it wasn't just the lack of prey, but something was happening. The prey were being scared off. She just hoped they would return soon.
