Trisha had watched the exchange between Joanna and the group outside. She gave the girl a weak smile and said sincerely, "Thank you." She felt like Joanna would brush off the thanks so she movd her way to a cabinet under the counters. No electricity would make it harder to cook things, but shemd been taught how to grill by her uncle a while ago. The girl moved to the freezer where premade burger patties were stored. The freezer had lost quite a bit of its coolness, but nothing was bad yet. She pulled out the patties and a couple of frozen burger buns. Without so much as a word, she grabbed the spices she needed and headed outside. There was a nice charcoal grill on trhe back porch and the girl set her ingredients down. She went to a shed nearby and grabbed everything she needed to start her fire. Once she got it going, it was only a matter of minutes before she finished up a few burgers. When she was done, she closed the grill and headed inside. She set the grilled burgers on the table in the kitchen and said, "Anyone hungry? Figured we could have a good meal before it all goes bad."
Just like the girl had expected, Jo had brushed off the thanks and instead watched her grab the burgers and head outside. When she came back in, Jo smiled. "Look at you go. Musician and a chef. How over-achiever of you!" Of course the girl was only joking. She grabbed one, putting it on a bun, and sat down. Taking a bite out of it. "Nice job." She said through a mouthful of burger. She hadn't bothered putting anything else on it. Just the burger was awesome enough for her. She swallowed and flashed a sarcastic smile to Trisha. "If ever you playing your music goes bad, you could always be an awesome cook somewhere."
Trisha frowned at the sarcastic joke. She was serious about her music and she felt a stab of pain in her heart when Joanna teased her about another job. "I'm not an over achiever," the girl said with a hint of sadness in her tone, "Just wanted to do something nice." She turned from Joanna. It really looked like that moment of connection was just a fluke. With another frown, she moved to her fridge and grabbed the ketchup, mustard and mayo. She didn't put vegetables on it, she was sort of picky that way. Trisha didn't bother sitting at the table, and instead eat at the counter. Max wandered in and grabbd himself a burger as well, at least she'd fed them. That's what hosts did for their guests.
OOC: If I disappar, it's because I'm in my ride headed home. Should be back there by 5 my time :)
Max had watched the exchanges between his two companions, but hadn't intervened. He wasn't sure how to act. Plus, he was too jumpy and caught up with thinking about what they were going to do now. He ate his burger in silence, thinking to himself that this was the best thing he'd ever tasted, expecially since who knows when he'd get something like it. When he was finished, Max took a deep breath and sighed. Disasters scared him. He'd heard enough about them at school, but he'd always thought that that kind of thing would never happen to him. And now, here he was, in a world without power to the point where cars weren't working. "Say," he said at length. "Do you think the power's cut in other towns like this?" he asked, knowing it was a pretty dumb question. How could cars, phones, and all other electricity just stop working in one area?

Trisha tossed a look over to Max and lifted her brow, "I have no idea." She popped her hip up and crossed her arm over her chest, "Why, do you think this is a wide spread thing?" She hoped not. What if it was more than just one city? What if it was the whole state? Could something like that really happen? Trisha didn't know. She really didn't want to know either. She just wanted the power to come back on and for things to go back to normal. How were they even to figure out if they were the only city this had happened to? There wasn't another city around for miles.
Max just shrugged. "I don't know either. I just thought that maybe, if some other city has power, maybe they could help us or something. But it wouldn't really work unless someone went to them, because we don't really had any quicker ways of communication without electricity." Max paused and looked back at Trisha to see what she'd say. It was true, they couldn't receive help from another town unless someone went there on foot, but she had a point that there were no others towns for miles. But, he knew that he didn't want to stay here. His adrenaline had hit the ceiling and he couldn't just sit still and wait for the problem to come to him. Something inside him made Max want to go straight for the throat of this issue, take the bull by the horns if you will. But his brain was buzzing at a million miles an hour. He couldn't just sit here.

Trisha frowned softly at what he was saying. He sounded strange, like he had an idea. There was a fire in the boy's eyes she didn't quite understand, and it unsettled her. "Well, why don't we just wait and see. I'm sure the power will be back soon enough. They've got paid professionals taking care of that sort of thing right?" The girl sent a sideways glance to Joanna, not sure if the girl would react the same way. Trisha then turned her soft blue eyes back to Max. His brown eyes seemed distant, like he was planning a route to the nearest town in his head. He was only a teenager though. This wasn't their job. Why not let the older people handle it? Trisha was technically an adult, but she was still in high school, held back a year. It just didn't feel right to want to go out and solve this mystery. Especially when there were so many thugs running around.
