Well, it's up to Jags. C: I was gonna make them just have the same last name and make that be common ground, but if you want them to be related and have Max not have known that Tyler was his cousin, it's up to you! Hehe. I wanted to name my character Tyler Jones but then I had second thoughts about it... Then it was Tyler Marks but then I had second thoughts, too. Then I picked Tyler Adams because it sounded relatively normal and common. C:

Character name- Joanna (Jo) Young
Gender- Female
Appearance- Dark chestnut brown hair, light brown eyes. She stands at 5'5, and has a cream sort of complexion. She's petite, athletic, and wears form fitting clothing.
Personality - So much of a feminist. She can do anything, and she knows it. Jo likes to have her way in any way possible. She's the type to continue arguing her point, even if she knows that she's wrong. She's not a very trusting person, and she hates confrontation, even though she won't back down from it. She doesn't want to need anyone, and she doesn't want anyone to need her. Jo is a very much go with the flow type person, and she is a very do it myself type person.
Age- 18
History- Joanna grew up with only her father. Her mother died giving birth to her, and her father always wanted a son. Joanna tried for most of her life to be that son, but to no avail. So she became the hardest of girls she could be. But he never really acknowledged her love for him. Sure, he loved her. He provided for her and everything, but it was never what she wanted. Jo would always try to be the best at everything, any sports, after school clubs, but her father never batted an eye. He payed for everything, but she was always denied the actual "I'm proud of you." As time went on and she reached high school, it didn't phase her anymore and she grew apart from him. Falling into some wrong crowds, and even ending up in jail for violence against others she knew from school. Her life has never been perfect, but she's okay with that. She has herself, and that's all she needs.

Looks fun~ c:

Character name: Galdur Gísladóttir

Gender: Female

Appearance: Essentially identical to her brother: they share the same engimatic pale grey, almost silvery, eyes, wide with an almost intensity; the dry curve of their lips; and their platnium blonde hair is cut in the same bob cut, bangs swept to the side. More often than not they share the same pale clothing, too. Both stand at 5'4". She's flat-chested, making it even harder to tell her apart from her brother.

Personality: Very expressive, energetic, and talkative. Used to filling up silences with her twin, though knows how to let expressions speak more than words as well. Fidgety, though calms down when doing an activity - such as playing a game - with her brother. Possessive over her sweets and belongings, except to her brother. No idea about the limits of personal space - used to being very close with her brother.

Age: 17

History: She and her brother have been together since the beginning of their time, and their bond is tighter than that of the one between himself and his parents. Which is not to say, of course, that they do not get along--as a familial unit they get along better than most, despite the queer, eccentric family composition. They will graduate from the same school come june, and will head to the same university, although destined for different futures.
Their parents are away on business when the blackout strikes. given that it is morning, they do not notice the power outage until they visit the fridge to find that it isn't working properly.

character name. eir gíslason
gender. male
appearance. essentially identical to his sister: they share the same enigmatic pale grey, almost silvery, eyes, wide with an almost unearthly, yet childlike, intensity; the dry curve of their lips; and their platinum blonde hair is cut in the same bob cut, bangs swept to the side. they stand at five feet four inches, and despite their gender differences they share the same wardrobe, more often than not.
personality. very mild mannered, and not prone to obvious outward displays of emotion. his pleasure--or lack of it--is often displayed subtly in his tone of voice, and perhaps a slight tension in the perpetual curve of his lips, but never his mannerisms.
he has an almost fanatic obsession with random things, and is dangerously possessive of his things to the point of violence (fortunately for all he's about as athletic as a dead slug and as strong as one too, so there's that). he likes keeping order and is extremely finicky about his appearance and the appearance of others, and has no appreciation of personal space whatsoever.
age. seventeen
history. his sister and he have been together since the beginning of their time, and their bond is tighter than that of the one between himself and his parents. which is not to say, of course, that they do not get along--as a familial unit they get along better than most, despite the queer, eccentric family composition. they will graduate from the same school come june, and will head to the same university, although destined for different futures.
their parents are away on business when the blackout strikes. given that it is morning, they do not notice the power outage until they visit the fridge to find that it isn't working properly. horrified by this new development, the two set out in search of those with power, or something good to eat.

ic; It was Tyler's typical Saturday morning. Up at seven, in the gym by eight, hour and a half work out to rehabilitate his body, shower, and then a late breakfast downtown wherever he could find a place to eat. He didn't enjoy the fact that he had forgone the dorm life his second year and instead found a cheap apartment, but the apartment was in a decent area and the drive to the college was fine - "Boston College? In Boston?" "In Newton. Close enough, though. I do live in Boston." - and actually let him forget everything once in a while. Really, the feelings he got walking into the diners in Boston made him feel at home, so he decides that this was the right thing to do.

Running a hand through his short hair - "Not short enough. Reminder - get hair cut." - he strolled easily enough into the diner, rummaging through his pockets for his wallet, and double-checking for his keys. Wavings with a stiff right arm, he offered a crooked smile and a, "Good morning, Jean," to the familiar waitress.

"Morning, hun. The usual?"

"Yes, ma'am." Sitting in an open booth - which he found odd - and tapping a crooked beat on the table, he watched as a glass of orange juice was slid in front of him. "Thanks for everything, Jean. I appreciate it."

"No problem, hun. Your food should be out -"

"Jean. The power's cut."

"No, Keith, I can't see that! Go see what the problem is. I'll call National Grid."

Finding his cell phone in his back pocket, he frowned as he realized it was off. I didn't turn off my phone... Holding the power button was unsucessful, so Tyler merely set his phone down, deciding that last night wasn't a dream and he really was out all night and returned home eariy in the morning.

"The phone's aren't working either and -"

"My phone isn't working either!"

"My iPod shut off!"

"Hey, so did my mp3 player!"

"What's going on? Why is this happening?"

"Would everyone shut up?" barked the gruff cook. "It ain't the end of the world. Now y'all sit your tushes back down and stay quiet. We'll solve this in a jiffy."

Tyler merely sat there, head tilted towards the ceiling. He wasn't a genius, but he could tell that the entirety of the situation was a little odd, however - "Maybe a construction crew hit a power line."

"But my iPod? And cell phone? How do you explain that?"

WIth furrowed brows, Tyler closes his eyes and just grunts, chin resting on his chest. "Who knows. Coincidences happen all the time. My iPod did that and I had to get a new one. Just let Keith handle it, guys. He knows what to do."

ooc; did a google maps for BC and the diner. it is called Galley Diner and it's located on P Street in Boston! never been there, but it's on my list. C: also, ew, constant changes in tense - i'm sorry about that, guys. it's a weird habit. it's nice to roleplay with everyone again, all the same. C:

Ooc: WOW....My Internet is down for a few hours and...wow. New members (: I feel special. Anyhoo, I'dd add Goldy, Dusk, and Souki's characters, and I believe that we may be able to start now.
Resta- I'll have to think about it. I suppose we'll see XD

Ic:
It started out as any normal Saturday. March 8th. Max Adams had woken up in someone elses home. He stayed in his room while the rest of the family slept. That was the usual thing. Hed wake up early and just hang around his room, avoiding any contact at all with the Knebels, the family who had adopted him when he was younger. Sure, he had been living with them for a few years, but he still didnt feel like he truly belonged with them. His 14-year-old brother agreed with him.
So it was on this day, March 8th, that something rather peculiar happened. Max was completely minding his own business and rattling off emails to one of his friends, when suddenly, out of the blue, his laptop screen went black. Not only that, but his lights blinked out and his fan slowed to a sudden stop. A power outage? he thought. Max stood and walked to window, pulling back the shades to see if there was some sort of storm he didnt know about that could have knocked out the electricity. But, in the morning light, there wasnt a single cloud in the sky. Thats oddhe thought. Max snuck downstairs to tell Cody, his adopted father, that his lights were out, but first he decided to test the power downstairs. He switched on the television, but nothing happened. The screen stayed black. He walked into the kitchen to see Cody fiddling with the light switch. The lights werent on.
Say, Max, is the power working in your room? he asked, without looking up.
No, Max replied. Cody heaved a sigh.
I suppose Id best go check the fusebox. Cody disappeared through a door and came back a few minutes later, looking grim. Thats strange. It doesnt show anything wrong.
Max suddenly felt a shudder run down his spine, and had the feeling that something was very wrong here. Very wrong.

"As energetic as always, sister," Eir said in drowsy fondness, just barely awake, his lips quirked up slightly. For him, this was the equivalent of a enthusiastic hug and a profession of love, a display of affection reserved for his family's private eyes only. His own hair, identical to his sisters except less brushed, was mussed and stuck up strangely. He stumbled to the newly vacated bathroom to conduct his own morning ritual, and when he shambled back out again, his face was scrubbed and his hair in order, a tie holding back the hair framing the right side of his face.

He didn't give as much thought to the clothing he plucked out of the wardrobe as his sister, instead opting for clothes that were colored like hers. A loose, thin button up shirt and shorts that ended just above his knees. For all that he was supposed to have hit puberty, he was still slender and built much like a girl--like his sister--a result from not getting much exercise.

Stifling a yawn, he joined his sister, and unpacked his violin. Tightening the bow, he ran it across his strings, adjusting a couple of the pegs before running through his scales, then a couple finger exercises. He was fond of his violin--it had been his sixteenth birthday gift, something he'd wanted instead of a car, and as such his parents had been more liberal with their money, buying him a lump of wood that was nothing to scoff at.

After his fingers and wrist were nice and limber, and he no longer felt he was going to topple over, he set the instrument down and headed to the kitchen for a drink of water--and a bite of breakfast too, perhaps. Clicking a glass into the fridge, he blinked in surprise when no water came out. Maybe he could get some juice instead. He opened the door, and a slight frown marred his pale forehead when the gust of cool air that flowed out was... less cold than it should have been. The juice was still cold, though, which meant the power must have just gone out.

"Sister," Eir called over her warm-ups, "do you suppose the power's gone out? Our fridge doesn't seem to be working properly. Is the television all right?"

Trisha looked in the bathroom mirror as she brushed her hair straight getting ready to go out with a study partner to work on getting her grades up. It was just your typical day and she was just your typical teenager doing what teenagers do, case in point, brushing her hair. She'd gotten dressed a little while ago in a pair of faded form fitting jeans, a grayish tank top and a thin black sweater like jacket over that. The girl turned put away the brush and headed out of the bathroom. Once out in the living room she saw her mother laying out across the couch with some infomercial playing on the TV. Leslie LeClaire, Trisha's mother, didn't even bother to say good morning to her daughter. Instead, she applied another layer of lipstick to her already caked up face. Trisha didn't pay her any attention though. Ever since she'd flunked the last year, the girl's mother had hardly bothered with her.
Trisha popped two pieces of bread in to the toaster and waited. Suddenly, it was like background hum of the house just stopped, including the TV. Not all at once, but as if a generator or something was turned off. A power outage? Great. The girl turned her blue eyes toward the toaster. So much for a snack. Trisha looked out the window to see the street but most houses wouldn't have their lights on at this time of day.
"Patricia," her mother called, making Trisha tense a little. She liked it when people called her Trisha, not Patricia or Patty.
"Yeah Mom?" she called back.
"Go check on the fuse box," she said lazily.
"Tony's going to be here any minute mom," the girl said with a frown.
"Now young lady!" her mother said angrily. Trisha snorted harshly as she headed out of the house to check on the fuse box. Once there, she noted that it was completely fine. What was going on here?
