OOC: Emberstorm shuffled out of the warriors den. It would have been a bright morning if it hadn't been snowing snow much. She envied all the thick furred cats in the clan. She sauntered over to the fresh kill pile. No food here... as usual. She thought. She hoped that she would go on a patrol soon. She would love to help stock up the food. She saw Spottedpelt, Robinleap, Rockstripe, Sunpaw, and Cherrypaw. Spottedpelt was carryng a mouse. Cherrypaw had a robin and Sunpaw had a rabbit that was almost as big as himself! "Nice catch!" She complemented him. The golden furred apprentice beamed at the praise.
"Should I take it to the elders?" he asked Rockstripe.
"Yes." said Rockstripe. "They'll love to have some fresh-kill." Sunpaw scurried off doing his best to keep his rabbit from dragging. Emberstorm heard the purrs from the elders as he brought it to them. Rockstripe sighed. "I wish that we brought more fresh-kill." He said sorrowfully.
"You did your best. Besides, you've brought more than anyone else has in a while." Emberstorm replied good naturedly. Rockstripe smiled.
"Thanks." He said, and walked off. Emberstorm heard Pinetail call to Cloudpaw.
"Could you see if you can find some herbs Cloudpaw?" Pinetail asked. Cloudpaw nodded and dashed off. Pinetail walked over to the fresh-kill pile and sat next to Emberstorm. Emberstorm looked at him.
"Why don't you get your own apprentice so you don't have to send all the other apprentices to do these chores?" She asked. Pinetail bristled. She looked at him, puzzled. Why does he always act like that when we talk about him getting an apprentice or even saying the word 'apprentince'? She wondered. Pinetail just walked away from her. Emberstorm sighed. He was always like this. Every time somebody mentioned an apprentice he would snarl. She sighed and looked at the falling snowflakes.

Fawnheart sat at the edge of the camp helping Skystrike fix some of the bramble entry way that had collapsed under the heavy snow. Fawnheart shivered despite her longer coat and sent a look toward the other she-cat, "I don't know how you do it." "Do what?" the she-cat asked. "No freeze in this weather," Fawnheart said with a shivering voice. "It's not all that bad," the white she-cat said with a small chuckle, "Well, so long as you're too frozen to tell you're freezing." The she-cat sent Fawnheart a playful look before turning back to the barrier and helping put it back together. With that, the two of them trotted back to the center of camp which had been cleared of most of the snow. Even though the snow was moved, the ground still felt achingly cold against Fawnheart's soft paws. "I'll see you later," Skystrike called to her as she padded away to join her sister. "Bye," Fawnheart said a little dejectedly. The she-cat sat down in the small clearing and watched the camp bustle around her. Well, as bustingly as it could get in such cold weather.

Emberstorm saw Blazefur go under the fallen beech tree. He came out carrying a bundle of moss. "It was growing under the tree." He said to Emberstorm. Emberstorm nodded.
"Pinetail would really like that." She said.
"I'll bring it to him." He replied. Before he could dash off Mossfoot had called to him from the bramble walls.
"Could you lead a patrol?" She asked him.
"Sure! Just let me give this moss to Pinetail." Mossfoot nodded and he dashed off. About a minute later he came back. "Hey do you want to go on patrol?" He asked her.
"Of course."
"Okay. Lets just get some other cats on the patrol then we can go." He called to Fawnheart. "Do you want to join a patrol?" He asked. Emberstorm waited for her reply.

Fawnheart had nearly jumped when Mossfoot called out to her. Her head whipped around to look at him and she sat there for a moment a little stiffly. It took her a moment to shake it off and reply, "S-sure!" The she-cat stood and padded quickly over to them to hide the embarrassment that had taken over her. "What sort of patrol are we doing?" she asked as she looked between the two companions, "Hunting or border?" She looked toward the fresh-kill pile that had recently been restocked. Well, as restocked as it was going to be. There was hardly enough prey on there to feed the queens and elders. She frowned softly and turned back to the others, waiting for them to reply.
Birchfall stretched his sore legs. His stomach rumbled, but the fresh-kill pile was looking lower than it ever had. He should have eaten after he got back from the dawn patrol, but he could go another day on scraps. He had gotten past the first wave of hunger, which was always the hardest. Once he got used to the nagging hunger, it dulled and he barely noticed it. He could tell he was thinning out a little and loosing energy, but he made sure to work harder to keep his muscles strong and keep his mind off his belly. He saw Fawnheart and Emberstorm grouping up, and made his way over. He caught the end of Fawnheart's question and nodded, glad a patrol was forming. "Mind if I join?" he grinned, knowing they wouldn't refuse. The patrols took any help they could get now that most cats sought to rest. He was secretly glad. It made him feel needed.

Fawnheart turned her attention to Birchfall, the large tom looking a little more on the thin side. She frowned softly and tilted her head, "Didn't you already go on patrol today?" Then again, why should she ask such a question? No one really wanted to patrol around in the horrible cold snow, not if they could help it. So if someone volunteered it was always a good thing. Still, it was better if cats didn't tire themselves out or use too much energy. "Not that I'm saying your help isn't appreciated," the she-cat added quickly in a nervous voice, "It's just that you look tired is all."
Fawnheart turned her gaze to the young tom Heatclaw. "I guess it's our good fortune that we've got another volunteer," she said softly before she turned her blue eyes back to Mossfoot, "I guess we head out now right?" THe she-cat then turned her eyes back toward Heatclaw, "We're going on a border patrol, so prepare for a long trek." She gave the tom a soft nod of the head and flicked one of her curl-tipped ear. With that, the patrol left the camp and headed out for the patrol.
OOC: Sorry for the double post, but mine wasn't showing up.

"It's a border patrol." Mossfoot meowed. "But if you do find some prey, do try and catch it. And yes of course you can join Birchfall." Mossfoot added smiling. They would need all the help they could get. "Lets see if we can get one more cat willing to join the patrol, and then we can go." She said. "I agree." Emberstorm replied.
