Now what I want you guys to do, is choose a power for my friend. This is actually based off of a dream that I had. I ran straight out of bed, grabbed a notebook, and wrote down a part of it.
Now, it's become a combination of "Marked", "Daughters of the Moon", and "Twilight"
My friend's character looks like her. She looks like a porceline dool, with very light skin. She has dark brown, almost black eyes (really n.n) and brown hair that meets her chin with bangs. She looks very innocent, but wears black all the time. She's not easy to get along with at all, but suprisingly gets along with me perfectly. She's really, really strong, and kind of a loner.
What should her power be?
She might play an importaint role in the story.
Lili is based on me, and My friend's character is Marjorie. Marjorie means pearl, and that is her real name. Marjorie is evil inside, and outside. lol. In real life, and in the book.
______________________________________________________________________ I'll pick the best power, and that person can come up with a name for the story.
RECAP -
You must come up with a power for Marjorie.
The best power (in my opinion) will be chosen, and that person gets to choose the title.
I might eventually expand and turn this into a book! So be tasteful! (The thought just occured to me now, actually. xD)
Normal Please excuse the title of this chapter. My life has been anything but normal. When this all started, I didn't think that any of this was possible. That any of this was real. But I guess I was special before that. I was always cursed to an abnormal life, not even comparable to a normal one. My brother is so luckey. Umm... I guess I'll start at the day that my whole life changed. Too bad I can't remember what being normal felt like. The only thing I remember by now, is that one day. Every sight, every feeling, every smile, and every word.
Let's start.
So there I was. Standing in front of the school, taking deep breaths. Who knew I hyperventalated so much? My feet set on auto, and I entered the school, painting on a smile. As soon as my foot hit the hard tile floors of the school, two girls ran to my sides. "Hey, Lili!" One said. She was a short blonde with a tan, clear face. She wore exaderated makeup. The classic red lipstick and blue eyeshadow. But it looked strangely good on her. "Brett." I nodded to her. She smiled broadly at the mention of her name. "What's the latest, Lili?" An athletic red-head asked, fully absorbed in her compact mirror. She was applying makeup that made all the wrong features stick out. "Umm... I heard that Trent cheated on Dani." A sly smile spread on my face. I hated spreading gossip, but in this school, if you talked about nobody, you were nobody. "No fricking way!" She exclaimed (replacing Fricking with the eff word). "Oh my god, Steff, stop swearing!" I groaned for the millionth time. "What's wrong with swearing?" Steff asked defensively. "Everything?" I laughed, turning into the first room I saw. Luckily, the two didn't want to follow, and walked on in hushed gossip. I breathed a sigh of relief and sunk to the ground. There was still ten munnutes until Homeroom. I would never survive the day with everything that would happen. What I didn't tell them, was that I had broken up with my boyfriend the night before. He was a reall Jerk, and I'd finally told him I'd had enough. The school didn't see that side of him. They saw the smart, rich, athletic, hott, football player. I saw the guy who bribed the teachers to give him good grades, and had a gym at home. Telling me how much everyone was missing out by not being rich. Who would date that? Someone who didn't know what she was doing.
But that was the least of my worries.
I got frustrated, angry, upset, and all togeather more emotional than I'd ever been in my life. The air around me seemed to thin out, and I thought that was just in my head. It wasn't. The air seemed to bend, shaping to my thought. My mind was wild, and so was it. The air flew around the empty classroom, knocking papers off of the shelves. I suddenly cleared my mind, willing the thoughts to go away. I guess somehow I knew it was special. Not me, but the wind. As my mind cleared, the winds stopped suddenly. The papers dropped to the ground, and it looked like a tornato was in the room before me. I stood up abruptly, and as I did, the air thinned in front of me again. Only this time, a shape appeared. No, not a shape, a person. A man. A guy. A hott guy. He wore a white cotton tee with dark blue jeans. His brown hair was messy, and his topaz eyes seemed to glow with their own light. His muscles were clearly visable, and were there, but not overpowering him. "You." He whispered, his eyes not checking me out as all the guys in my school did, but staring into my eyes. Staring deep inside of me. "Who are you?" I asked, breathless. "I'm Jake." He smiled, sticking a hand out. It looked awkward with him like that. No, I'll rephrase that. Someone else would have looked awkward, but he looked so natural. I placed my hand in his, and he shook it gently. I couldn't take my eyes off of his. They wern't just a topaz, but a kind of liquid topaz. Like a real-life Edward Cullen (Only switching his name with Jacob Black). "Is that her?" A small girl pulled on Jake's shirt. Jake nodded, never taking his eyes off of me. "Who's that?" I finally broke the gaze and looked down. A smakk girl about eight years old was hiding behind Jake. "This is Alice." She looked down at her with a smile, "I consider her my little sister, even though we're not related." Something clicked in my mind, and I asked the question that I needed an answer to. "What was that thin air thingy? The air got thin, then you came here. Just... Poof! And you're there." "That's Alice's power." He smiled at me, his eyes searching desprately for my reaction. I stood, mouth agape at Alice. So magic was real? All the stuff I'd wished was true, all the many times I'd wished something story-worthy would happen to me, and here it was? Wow. "What's your power, Alice?" I asked her, obviously suprising Jake by my choice of actions. Did he expect me to freak out or something? "I can teleport." She smiled broadly, showing a row of perfect white teeth. Alice was a small girl, with platinum blonde hair down to her butt. It looked natural with her light skin and silver eyes. "The world isn't how you see it now, Lili." Jake said, staring straight at me with his liquid topaz eyes, "Your perfect world of candy and gossip is nothing compared to the real troubles we face." He swallowed hard before finishing his little speach. "You've been chosen to help us make the world normal for the humans." Did that mean I wasn't human?
A New Beginning
Alice took a seat on the ground, Me and Jake sitting after her. "Alice is a beautiful name." I said to the little girl. She crawled to me and sat on my lap. She wore a pink tee with a white skirt(Both looked as if they costed nothing. ). I loved the feel of her in my arms. I rested my chin on her head and closed my eyes. Jake was right. She felt like a sister to me. I felt the sudden need to protect her from anything. "Alice means Noble." Jake smiled, "I found her wandering around in my castle's gardens. She didn't know who she was, or where she came from. She had a note in her pocket." He took out a small piece of paper and handed it to me. It was a light, purplish color. I opened it, and it had lilacs painted at the corners. The message read in caligraphy;
To whomever it may concern -
This is my daughter. If you find her alone, then I am dead. I failed in protecting her, and I hope you'll do a better job. She is special, and you'll soon figure that out. Her father studied the Dunamis. I had it, too, and passed it to her. I hope with all my heart the Dunamis dosn't consume her. Please, take care of my Noble little Alice.
- I owe you my life
I took a deep breath, "What does Dunamis mean? What is it?" He seemed to know I'd ask that. "Dunamis is the greek word for power. we call the abilitys we posess, as if it were a desiese." He dropped his gaze to stare at the tips of my balette flats, "One out of Ten people with The Dunamis dies as their powers are developing." I dropped my gaze as he had done. After a long moment, I spoke. "You... Kept saying 'Our'." I hesitated, then continued, "Do you have The Dunamis, too?" He sighed, then nodded, "Everyone with a Dunamis has a Greek name. This is why most of us have two names. If we're born with The Dunamis, we have Greek names when we are born. The mother can tell if their child is to be born with it. Those who develop powers later in life, get a Greek name when they change. They recieve it from their mother no matter what." "Why is your name Jake then? Don't you have a Greek name?" I asked, puzzled. He looked at me, rage in his eyes, "I was born with The Dunamis, so my parents thought I was destined to rule the Musterion Kosmos - That means [Sacred] Secret world. I would never waste my life sitting around all day, so I ran away when I could. They found me once and brought me back, but let me go as soon as they saw that I despised them for forcing a future on me." I sat silent for another moment. "What was your birth name?" I asked at last. "Cyril," He spat the name as if he were swearing, "It means Lordly. They thought the name would be a good omen for when I ruled." I fell silent once again, and it wasn't uncomfortable this time. "What role do I have in all of this?" I asked quietly. He smiled at my curiosity. "You are Anneliese, Consecrated and Gracious. You are the Chosen One." He stared at me in awe. "How am I Chosen?" I asked quietly, "I never get chosen for anything." My black humor made him laugh, but even then I knew it was true. My name felt tso right. Anneliese. Suddenly, Lili didn't seem like a name at all. "Anneliese is an honored name, and Zues looked down on you and saw the name fit." He whispered, even though no sounds came from the hall anymore. "I have... The Dunamis?" I stared past him, trying to comprihend everything. "Yes." He smiled at me, and in that instant, I knew that he was telling the truth.
Beautiful Dreamer
Jake stood and smiled. "We need to show you the world in which you really belong. It's a world within this world. The people of the Musterion Kosmos live with the humans. I almost never use the real word for our world. I just call it our world, and theirs." He sighed and shook his head softly. "Do... Do I have a choice weather I stay or go?" I asked, my hands trembling. He looked up at me, suprise flashing in his eyes. "Of course," He said softly, smiling at me, "You always have a choice." I stood there, contimplating. So much had changed in the past hour. Was it really an hour? It felt like the whole day. I sighed inwardly. Why had everything happened so fast? Taking the silence as an answer, Jake moved Alice closer to them. Alice held my hand, and his. "You odn't have to answer now. Take as long as you want." Jake smiled at me. The air thinned again, and I looked at Alice. A silver glow formed around her pupils, making them look dialated. I gasped as the classroom around us disinagrated. I watched as the objects around us sizzled and broke apart, becoming grains, then floating away. Alice, her eyes still glowing, looked around. "Let's go back to Amara." Jake said. I looked to him, suprised. How could he talk? The air seemed to have vanished. I couldn't breath. I ried to take a deep breath, but the oxygen didn't come easily. I started hyperventalating. "Got her." Alice said, and we were suddenly surounded by grains again. They sizzled, then formed back togeather in a hurry. The oxygen hit me suddenly, a relief from the nothing that I had to breath. Jake laughed. He laughed at me. "It's okay, Anneliese," he hit me on the back, "It gets easier." He took my hand, pullingme to our new surroundings. We were heading into a cottage surrounded by trees. It looked as if it had been here for centuries. Jake pulled the old wooden door open to reveil a cozy little home. It reminded me vaguely of my great-grandma's house. It had many candles around, giving off a sweet, vanila smell. Jake led me to a couch, and Alice ran to what resembled a kitchen. The Kitchen and sitting room wern't seperated, but in the same room. There were three doors to the right of the house, and one of them was open, revealing a modern bathroom. It was like looking into a different house. "Amara!" Alice laughed, her feet leaving the floor. I looked to see an old woman swinging her in circles, a smile cracked on her face. "Hello, my nobel little Alice." The old lady's laughter filled the room. Jake waved to her. "Cyril!" She nodded with a smile, "My lordly young man." Then her eyes met mine. "Oh," She moved closer, sitting in front of me in a rocking chair, "My Consecrated and Gracious Anneliese. Oh, how many centuries I've waited for you." She closed her eyes, youth brimming her face for a moment. "Did you say centuries?" I asked, staring at her in wonder. "My Dunamis is Eternal life. I live forever. The name Amara means eternal. The only way death can wrap his arms around me, is if something is stabbed directly through my heart." She opened her eyes and smiled at me. "She came very close once, when teaching me to use my powers." Jake said, his eyes crincled s if remembering the funniest joke. "Ah, yes," Amara smiled then gave a short chuckle, "If Cyril hasn't told you, he can harness the energy in the air around him and send it out in a single strike." "She told me to practice on her," Jake continued, "And so my first strike was supposed to hit a brick she was holding. I was supposed to control the ammount of power I used, and so I hit it too hard, sending the energy straight to her chest. Luckily, it just touched the side of her heart, and not through it." He laughed, "I have never been able to strike as hard as I did then." I shuddered at the thought. "You've had a long day, my Anneliese." Amara smiled, gesturing to Jake. "You can stay in Cyril snd Alice's room." Jake took my hand and led me to one of the doors on the right of the house. He opened it to reveal two beds. Alice burst in behind him and hopped on the one to the left of the room. It had a little brown bear on it. She hugged it tight and slipped under the covers. Jake took the blanket off of his bed and the pillow. He handed them to me. "I thought you'd have a bed by now, but you can have my pillow and blanket while you wait." He smiled at me. "But what will you use?" I asked him, concerned. "I'll be fine." He told me, laying on his bed. "If you're sure." I said, laying out on the floor. I slipped the pillow under my head, and threw on the blanket. "What about my song?" Alice whispered from her bed. "You sing to Alice?" I asked, staring at the flickering light a candel threw on the cieling. "I'm not that good." He said to me, holding back laughter. "But I can't sleep without a song." Alice hugged her bear close. "Well, why dosn't Lili sing to you?" Jake suggested, then I gasped. "I've never sung to anyone before!" I whisper-yelled. "Try please, Anneliese?" Alice whined. I sighed, trying to remember a good song. "I remember the one my mom sung to me when I was little." I whispered, remembering the Irish tune in my head. I took a deep breath then let the words fall out of my mouth, the tune hitting the air purely.
"Beautiful dreamer, wake unto me. Starlight and Dewdrops are waiting for thee. Sounds of the rude world, heard in the day. Lull'd by the moonlight have all pass'd away. Beautiful dreamer, queen of my song. List while I woo the with soft melody. Gone are the cares of, Life's busy throng. Beautiful dreamer, awake unto me. Beautiful dreamer awake unto me."
I smiled as I hit the last note and looked to Alice. She had fallen asleep. "Wow." Jake whispered, "Your voice is amaising." He told me. "My singing is the only thing that's ever comforted me until now." I smiled, closing my eyes.
Tune of Heart
Hearing a faint tune, I opened my eyes to the dawn light. I reached for my alarm clock, trying to find the time. Suprisingly, it wasn't there. I sat up with a start, and everything slowly drifted back to me. 'My name is Lili.' I thought, mind still a whir, 'No, I was Lili.' I looked next to me to see the little Alice I was so protective of. She hugged her brown bear close, unaware of my presence. I looked to my left to see... Nothing. Then the faint tune came to me again. I stood and rushed out of the room, following my ears. No, not quite my ears, but something different. It was as if I felt the vibrations the soft tune sent through the ground under my feet. Like I was forcing the Earth to deepen that exact point. I went out the door and looked around. With a jolt, I realised I'd never been outside before. A small sparkling river was carrying the warm morning rays scattering across it's surface. The earth sucked in the heat, making the thick grass warm underfoot. Trees surrounded me, making the air seem fresh and alive. I took a deep breath and a brief morning gust hit me softly. I heard the tune again. Listening with my feet again, I headed across the river, realising then how deep it really was. It got wider and deeper as it headed farther into the dense forest on my right. Instead of following it, I headed away from it, towards the sun. The wonderful tune became recognisable as I came nearer. it was the instrumental to "Your Guardian Angel" it suddenly stopped and I heard somone swear. He started from the beginning, and I saw him sitting on a rock looking across the clearing oposite of me. Right on cue, I let the first note come out of my mouth. It was Jake. He looked up, suprised, then his expression became relaxed and amaised as he played on. He had an acoustic guitar that looked as if the strings were newer than itself. "Anneliese." He mouthed at me while his fingers strummed the guitar. I sat next to him and the words continued to flow evenly out of my mouth. It was only then that I realised I was in a night gown. It was a beautiful one, too. I didn't remember changing before I slept. It was made of a comfortable white fabric that sparkled when I moved. It had an incredible design on the bottom that looked like lace. Whe I held it closer, it was actually the weavings of flower stems in white ribbon. They curved into elagent flowers up onto the dress. Jake seemed to notice the beauty of the dress, too, for his eyes gleamed with some feeling. It was hard to pinpoint what as I was singing to the song, but I knew it wasn't one I'd seen before. Usually it was easy for me to read the little sparkles in people's eyes, but i didn't recognise this at all. I let the last note come out strong and pure. Better than I usually sung in the morning. Silence followed after our lovely tune, but it was almost as beautiful as the musc. "What..." I whispered, my breath stuck in my throat. I wondered what he would think of my choice of words, but curiosity took hold. "What emotion are you feeling right now?" I looked deeper into his eyes with confusion. He tried to look away, but for somereason couldn't break my gaze. "Pa..." He started to whisper, "Lo..." But he blinked furiously and looked away. "Nothing." He said at last, standing and bolting off towards the house. "You're... You're mad at me?" I said quietly, not moving from where I sat. where he just sat suddenly filled with emptyness and cold. He turned back and in the blink of an eye, I was confused. In all of two seconds, he rushed back, pulled me up off of the rock to stand in front of him, and stood with his face two inches from mine. "Don't say that." He whispered fiercely, "Don't you ever say that I'm mad at you. Don't think it." His sweet words floated across my face, leaving me temporarily dazed. "I..." I felt my eyes water with emotion. Had I upset him? He said he wasn't mad... Was he sad? Frustrated? Why? "I'm sorry." I lowered my head at last. "Don't be." Jake's voice was suddenly sweet as honey. He lifted my chin so that I couldn't pull away from his eyes. "It's my fault, not yours." All at once, the moment ended. He pulled away and walked back towards the cottage, and I stood there, trying to take deep breaths to calm myself. I could hardly piece togeather what had happened. At that second, All I could comprehend was that he had gotten that close to me. I couldn't help my next thought, But I wanted him close again.
We all have our moments: A moment to cry, a moment to laugh. A moment to be held, a moment to be let go. A moment to be sad for not having what we want, and a moment to be happy with what we got.
Yeah, we all have those moments. And I advise you not to put them to waste.
