...Let me tell you a story, passed through generations upon generations, about a mystic and wonderful power that resided in the world long ago... ...Three thousand years ago, a civilization thrived, called the Kingdom of Vuu. Vuu was a peaceful land, one where war never broke out, where all people lived in harmony, and where ancient magic was put into use for good. Vuu was known by most other countries as the Land of the Scholars, because of their vast knowledge regarding the world and even the universe itself. Vuu was also known to be the forge for some of the greatest spells in the world, being able to grant mystic powers to those who were pure of heart. Within the king's private library resided a book that housed these spells, as well as most of the knowledge that the kingdom had gained in their time. This book, written by a wizard named Daeja, was seen only by those who proved themselves worthy. This was the Book of Daeja. ...Unfortunately, not all beings wished to preserve the peace of Vuu. Jealousy befell a neighboring kingdom. Why should they be the only ones to understand the world in which we live? Why should we not be the ones to rule the world using this knowledge? Such questions rang through the streets daily, and as envy grew, so did the evil within the kingdom. One day, many months after word got out that the Book of Daeja had been created, the ruler of this land, known now simply as the Shadow Caster, led his armies in Vuu. Ruthlessly, they broke into the unsuspecting kingdom, killing all that stood in their way. The king and queen were placed under powerful illusions by the Shadow Caster, banishing almost all traces of hope for survival. ...Daeja, however, would not give up so easily. Making his way to the Book of Daeja, he held it in his hands. Just as the Shadow Caster and his followers were about to take it, Daeja uttered a powerful failsafe spell, breaking the book's power and casting its pages all over the world. The Shadow Caster, in a fit of rage, struck down Daeja. In his last moments, the wizard was able to place a spell upon the invader, destroying his body and trapping his soul in the unknown dimensions. Slowly, the Shadow Caster's followers dispersed, and the Kingdom of Vuu, once a powerful and awesome place to behold, faded into legend...
Present time: ...One hundred years ago, the legendary hero Mario rescued the revered Star Spirits and recovered the sacred Star Rod from Bowser. Merely a year afterwards, he collected the seven Crystal Stars and destroyed the soul of the Shadow Queen, ensuring the safety of the world once more. A year after that, he defeated the seemingly evil Count Bleck and Dimentio, preserving the existence of all dimensions. Surely he is a man to be respected, is he not? Unfortunately, not all heroes live forever. Mario passed away quite a few years back due to natural causes, as did other such beings like Luigi, Princess Peach, etc. It seems as if Mario's, and by extension, the Mushroom Kingdom's, enemies had been waiting for that day to strike... But more on that later. ...This is the Mushroom Kingdom, changed quite a bit since Mario's various adventures. The kingdom is now ruled by King Dothe, grandson of Princess Peach, and it's main city, Toad Town, has nearly doubled in size, while still retaining that cozy, cuddly feeling of safety that it offered during Mario's quest for the Star Spirits. Its population is now more mixed, with such species as Boos, Koopas, Goombas, etc. being a normal sight. Other such towns are still scattered among the kingdom, separate yet peaceful. In spite of Toad Town's enlarged size, natural landmarks like Forever Forest and Dry Dry Desert still remain. ...Despite the peaceful feeling of the Mushroom Kingdom, the Koopa Troop continues to cause trouble, as usual, such as by attempting to wage war on our kingdom or trying to usurp King Dothe, though (a) hero(s) always come(s) along and ruins their plans. Bowser has been succeeded by his son, Bowser Jr., who, not surprisingly, is almost exactly like his father. In spite of the Koopa Troops continuous losses, they have managed several feats, such as conquering Rogueport and much of the Dry Dry Desert. Mushroom Kingdom diplomat Tre T. has been attempting to negotiate an alliance between the Koopa Troop and the Mushroom Kingdom so as to get these locations back under our control, though to no avail. ...Unsurprisingly, it seems as if the Mushroom Kingdom's status will continue to be the same as always -- until now.
...Two weeks ago, a mysterious page was found buried in the sands of the Dry Dry desert by a wandering Little Mouser named Muriz. Muriz, being the knowledgeable little mouse that he is, brought the page to King Dothe and the local wizard, Merlux, a descendant of Merlon. Muriz disappeared shortly after, and has still not been found . Merlux responded to the appearance of the page as a sign signaling the beginning of an old prophecy, in which an unknown number of heroes would locate the pages to the sacred Book of Daeja, remaking the book and destroying the spirit of the Shadow Caster, who would eventually reappear. ...The Koopa Troop, having caught word of this, began their own search for the pages, unknowingly getting a head start due to King Dothe's inability to locate the hero. Since that time, however, he has found several beings whom he has deemed worthy of the search -- you.
...And so it begins. The race for the pages, the race to destroy the Shadow Caster. Who will succeed -- the Mushroom Kingdom, in their attempts to rebuild the book? Or the Koopa Troop, as they continue their on-going struggle for control of the Mushroom Kingdom? ... But, wait a moment... Who is that?
Game Play
Well, well, well. Welcome to Paper Mario: The Book of Daeja. You've probably figured it out by now -- this role-play is about the search for the pages of Daeja's book and, basically, the potential end of the Mushroom Kingdom, should the Shadow Caster return and take it over. If you've played Paper Mario 1 and 2, you should be familiar with the game play: Players can either join groups or travel alone, looking for the pages either for one of the three factions (detailed below) or for their own goals. The pages (of which you do not know how many there are) are scattered all throughout the Mushroom Kingdom (Paper Mario 1) and the other regions (Paper Mario 2), as well as some of my own locations. They are guarded by various guards, who will need to be defeated before the page can be recovered. There are several aspects of the games that I am incorporating into this, though I will have to change some of them so that they can actually be done in text. These are detailed later on, so why don't you read through the RP and enjoy!
Rules
As any game does, this RP has rules that need to be followed so that we can all have a fun time. Please read through them several times so that you understand them completely.
1. First off, all regular forum rules apply. 2. Second, stay within your limits. As in, don't god-mode. If you're a Clubba, who, as a rule, are usually (for lack of a better word) morons, then you will not suddenly be able to come up with some great and complex plan. A Goomba, likewise, though intelligent, will not be able to defeat an enemy in one hit (usually) due to their small stature. 3. Don't flame, please If you have a problem, as I always say, take it up with the person through PM. If, however, your character is naturally a smart-alleck, feel free to stay in character -- just don't overdue it. 4. Don't spam. Need I say more? 5. Do not meta-game. By this, I mean, for example, Merlux tells my character where the next page is. Your character is nowhere near here. If he doesn't suddenly know where it is, then that's fine. If he does, we have a problem. So don't do it. 6. Use IC (in character) and OOC (out of character.) Again, need I say more? Though, just to be sure, here is an example: IC: So-and-so swung his hammer, knocking the Koopa over.
OOC: Someone else feel free to finish him off.
7. Try as hard as you can to follow the two line rule. Unless it is a character response (because, generally, you don't need some long response to a yes or no question) then I usually won't count it as an actual post -- usually. 8. Try to use the best grammar that you can, please! 9. Don't drastically control another player's character without permission (eg. Killing, injuring a lot, etc.) 10. Pleeeeasssse don't try to take complete control of the game! This has happened in the past on many different occasions, and it gets really annoying after the 20th time. 11. Have fun!
The Daeja Pages
As I've said before, the main aspect of this RP is finding the pages to Daeja's book. I, being the sole Game Master (currently) will decide when and where a page will be located, though I am going to be nice and let you, the player(s) who found the page decide who/what is guarding it. The reason I refer to the guard as a "what" is because, honestly, it can be anything - a monster, some type of magic, or even a puzzle. So, yeah...
From time to time, an NPC will report to the leader(s) of a faction about a page that has been located in a hard to reach area. Usually, it will occur at both the Mushroom Kingdom and the Koopa Troop bases at the same time, so it is your job to try and get to the page before the other group does. However, sometimes only one group will be aware of the location of a page. This will most likely only happen if one group has far more pages than the other, so be on the look out for these findings. I am thinking that each player will have a sort of communication device (such as the Mailbox SP from PM2) that will be used by the faction leader to inform the players about the page locations.
Finally, once a page has been found, similar to the Star Spirits and the Crystal Stars, your character will receive a special power. If, however, your character loses that page, the power will be lost, as well.
Factions
There are four/three playable factions in this RP. They are detailed below.
The Mushroom Kingdom: Ruled by King Dothe, the Mushroom Kingdom is, generally, considered the entire playable world. They are the peace-seekers of the world, trying to avoid war and such. The Mushroom Kingdom is trying to find the Pages of Daeja so as to stop the potential return of the Shadow Caster. Any playable species can join the Mushroom Kingdom, though Clubbas and other "evil" species are in less abundance than the others. Members: -D.J. (Dawnsers) -Orvaia (Wolf)
The Koopa Troop: Ruled by King Bowser Jr., the Koopa Troop seeks to ravage and take over the Mushroom Kingdom. They have been attacking the Mushroom Kingdom for almost no reason ever since Bowser died, and are seeking the Pages of Daeja for their own reasons. Everything is playable here, though Toads, Yoshis, Little Mousers and 'Lil Sparkys are less abundant than everything else. Members: -Dacres (Wolf) -Tekar (Dragonstar) The Dark Ones: A mysterious faction that has only been rumored to exist, the Dark Ones are a non-playable faction. They are known to be looking for the Pages of Daeja, though for unknown reasons.
Neutral: Beings who for whatever reason are trying to find the pages, any playable species can be used in this group. "Members": -Mally (Starstrukk)

"Action Commands"
While we won't really be able to use buttons to perform action commands, I have thought this through and devised an incredibly simple way of utilizing the idea in semi-real-time battles. Ready?
Really, it's simple. When you attack, and I'll use a simple jump for this example, there is nothing stopping you from jumping on someone's head, and then positioning your feet for another jump in mid-air. Because of the laws of physics in the Mario universe, it really shouldn't be that hard to do, right? Likewise, during a hammer swing, your character can simply spin around to gain momentum, thus doing more damage to an enemy.
Badges/Special Moves
Usually, these are separated, in the games. However, I honestly can not think fo a good explanation for badge powers, so I'm going to go ahead and do what I'm doing. Badges are purchasable. However, the different types have variations on them. They are detailed below:
Attack Badges: Things like Sleep/Dizzy/Other jumps, Quake/Fire/Other Hammer attacks. These are moves that will be granted to your charcater when the badge is bought, though you will need to go to the Dojo (mentioned in Locations below) to practice and learn this. Likewise, you will not instantly learn these moves - they will take some time to fully learn.
Defense Badges: Thigns like Fire/Spike/Other shields. These will, basically, coat your feet in a substance resistant to whatever the name says, thus allowing you to jump on, say, enemies coated in fire, or enemies with spikes on their heads. These do not require practice to use.
Plus Badges: HP/FP/Attack/Defense/Focus/Charges. These basically jsut use magic to enhance aspects of your charcater (e.g. HP Plus uses magic to enhance endurance, FP Plus makes your character able to use more special attacks.) Charge is the only one of these that must be practiced and learned.
Others: Any badge that does not fall under the above catagories, depending on their additions, they may or may not need to be learned.
Also, keep in mind that the lowest badge cost is like, thirty coins, so don't expect to only pay ten coins for a super powerful badge.
Coins:
A recently added addition, coins are the main currency in the Mushroom Kingdom, used by the Kingdom, the Koopa Troop and even outsiders. Each player will start out with 100 coins, and they will be used to pay for items, badges and other services that require coins 9such as Merlux's item-finding services.) Coins can be earned by defeating enemies on the road. By doing so, they will flee, accidentally leaving 10 to 20 coins as they do so. Finally, I'll keep track of your coins on the profiles post, so don't worry about it until you go to a shop of some sort. =)
Species List and Joining
Finally! So, you've read through, and maybe you want to join. What do you have to do? Well, just read this very last section and fill out the form, that's what! Once that is done, you can either PM the form to me, or post it in the RP thread -- your choice.
Playable Species List
There are many, many playable species here. There are also no limits on how many people can use one species, so feel free to choose whatever you want! As a note, though, if I notice a pattern, and everyone seems to be choosing one particular species, I'm going to place restrictions on that group. Just a fair warning. In another Paper Mario RPG that I saw, the creator listed the pros and cons of each species. I am not going to do this -- at least, not as detailed as they did. Instead, I am going to leave it up to you to come up with your own unique strengths and weaknesses, no matter what species your character is, while still mentioning one or two key aspects of each species. So, with all that out of the way, here's the list: Blooper - Great swimmers with slight electrical powers, though they are extremely vulnerable to electrical attacks themselves. Bob-Omb - Capable of exploding, though are left weakened afterwards. Boo - Capable of turning invisible, though they are weaker in sunlight. Buzzy Beetle - Small and easily the best defenders though are nearly useless if flipped. Bumpty - Great swimmers and can resist cold spells, although they are easily frightened. Cheep Cheep - Very good swimmers, though rather clumsy on land. Clubba - Very strong, though generally unintelligent. Crazy Dayzee - Can easily put others to sleep, though are quite fearful and are less resistant to attacks. Duplighost (2) - Capable of disguising themselves as others, though they must keep their names secret in order to stay disguised for long periods of time. Fuzzy - Hyperactive and fast, as well as being able to heal themselves by sucking the blood of others, though they are very weak physically. Goomba - Intelligent, though generally weaker due to their small stature. Koopa (2) - Quick, though nearly defenseless if flipped. 'Lil Sparky - Can light up dark areas and can break through most defenses as well as possessing electrical abilities, though can easily be hurt by spells. Monty Mole - Can burrow underground, though is very sensitive to the sun. Mouser/Squeek - Stealthy and quick, though weaker than other species. Piranha Plant - Can travel underground and is usually slightly more powerful than most, though is usually less intelligent and can not travel over water, unless placed in a pot or a mound of dirt. Ruff Puff - Fairly strong and have slight control over electricity, though is slightly unintelligent and is prone to being harmed by their own power. Shy Guy - Quite acrobatic and fast, although their true strength lies in large numbers. Spinia - Extremely fast and hyper, though are known to not be as attentive as other species. Swooper - Can fly and suck the blood of others to heal themselves, though are physically weaker than most other species. Toad - The most evenly balanced, although they are usually timid and sometimes easily frightened. Yoshi - Very fast and have great jumping abilities, although generally their attacks are weaker.
Again, these are just stereotypical examples of these species. While your characters should retain at least a small amount of these abilities, other strengths or whatever are up to you.
Joining
And finally, time to fill out the form. Just post it in the role-play topic or PM it to me when you're finished.
Character list two posts after this.

Locations These are the places in the Mushroom Kingdom that will be playable (obviously.) Various amounts of Daeja pages are hidden within each location, though don't rush and try to get them all at once - they probably aren't going anywhere any time soon.
Toad Town The main city of the Mushroom Kingdom, Toad Town is twice the size it was when Mario was searching for the Star Spirits. It is split into five different sections: North, West, East, South and Center. Toad Town is, as agreed by almost everyone, one of the best places to live, as it has four item shops, several small neighborhoods, two badge shops, a post office, a large fighting dojo, two Toad Inns, a bakery, several unused warehouses, and a pub. In the far west and south sides of town, there is a ferry to Lavalava Island and a train to Dry Dry Desert, respectively, as well as the gateways to Shy Guy Toy Box and Flower Fields in the central and north-eastern sections of town. To top it off, Toad Town is the home of Merlux, the powerful local wizard, and is just south of Mushroom Castle and the road to Shooting Star Summit.
Shooting Star Summit East of Mushroom Castle is a mountain where it is perpetually dark, and where shooting stars can be seen flying through the sky all day long. At its base lives a witch, one of Merlon's descendants, who is very good at locating hidden objects.
Goomba Village West of Toad Town for about two miles is Goomba Village, the place where Mario's first adventure truly began. It is, as the name implies, a tiny village that is home to several Goomba families loyal to the Mushroom Kingdom and a few Toad families.
Koopa Village Koopa Village is several miles east of Toad Town. It is home to many Koopa families, and was once the home of famous explorers Kolorado and Kooper. Several Toads also live here, and there are several small shops.
Koopa Bros. Fortress Once the home of many Bob-Ombs before the evil Koopa Bros. took it over, it was eventually restored by Mario. It has since become the home of many Bob-Ombs, who have turning it into a sort of factory.
Dry Dry Desert Accessible only by the train that leads to it from Toad Town, Dry Dry Desert is home to both Dry Dry Ruins and Dry Dry Outpost. It was here that the first Daeja Page was found.
Dry Dry Outpost A town rumored to have been established by desert thieves, it is ruled by Moustafa the Third. It has many of the same features as Toad Town and Koopa Village, only it is inhabited by Nomadimice and Dryites. The inhabitants here are very knowledgeable, always spreading rumors and studying.
Dry Dry Ruins An old tomb that once belonged to Moustafa the Third's ancestors, it was overrun many, many years ago. At one point, it was taken over by Bowser's minion Tutankoopa, who was eventually defeated by Mario.
Note: More locations to come as they are mentioned.

Index: Blue = Mushroom Kingdom. Red = Koopa Troop. Purple = Dark Ones. Green = Neutral.
NPCS: Name: King Dothe the Second. Age: 34. Gender: Male. Affiliation: Mushroom Kingdom. Species: Human. Personality: Kind, generous and fair, Dothe has been called one of the best kings of the century by some. He listens to both sides of the story when a case arises, never making a decision until he knows all or most of the facts. Appearance: Fairly tall, he has inherited the standard golden blond hair of the Peach family. He wears royal robes colored blue and silver, as well as a silver crown with several jewels placed in it. History: The grandson of the legendary Princess Peach, Dothe was born in the Mushroom Kingdom's most peaceful time. He took over rule of the Mushroom Kingdom at the age of 27. Coin Count: A LOT. Like, ridiculously a lot. Other Information: A fairly powerful sorcerer, ranked number five on the official sorcerer list, Dothe knows many strategy and support spells, though his offensive magic is another story. He is an excellent sword fighter, however.
Name: Merlux. Age: 46. Gender: Male. Affiliation: Mushroom Kingdom. Species: Wizard. Personality: A wise and thoughtful man, Merlux is constantly studying the stars. He has been known for having a bit of a harsh tongue at times, though he never really means what he says. Like his great-aunt, Merlee, Merlux sometimes speaks in rhymes, and has a habit of casting spells through the use of playing cards. Appearance: Merlux never shows his face, instead choosing to hide in the shadows of his hood. He wears a dark green, gold trimmed cloak, held closed by purple orb, and purple boots. He also wears a dark green bandanna over the lower half of his face. History: A descendant of Merlon, Merlux is, naturally, very skilled in the use of magic. He is one of the few surviving Mystics in the Mushroom Kingdom, as most of the others have either moved elsewhere or been killed off. As such, he is very careful when he travels, so as to not fall subject to the ill fate of the others. Coin Count: A lot, as all of the King's workers receive quite a bit of pay. Other Information: Very skilled with magic, especially with the use of standard playing cards. He acts as one of King Dothe's advisers, as well as running his own fortune telling business near the castle.
Name: Bowser Jr. Age: 78. Gender: Male. Affiliation: Koopa Troop. Species: Koopa. Personality: Much like his father, Bowser Jr. is cruel and ruthless, leading many violent attacks against the Mushroom Kingdom. He shows no remorse for his actions, even when his plans put countless lives on the line. Unlike his father, though, Bowser Jr. has no limitations -- while Bowser generally held himself back because of his love of Princess Peach, his son has no such love within the Mushroom Kingdom, and as such will not hesitate to level entire towns. Appearance: A very large Koopa, who is believed to be either mutated or changed by magic. He has flaming red hair put into a ponytail, as well as collars on his arms, legs and neck. His shell is covered in spikes, and he has two large horns on his head. History: Bowser Jr. was born 32 years after the Quest for the Star Spirits. Though old by human standards, Bowser Jr. is actually still quite young for a Koopa compared to his father, who lived for about 200 years. Coin Count: Nearly as much as King Dothe's, through stealing. Other Information: Powerful both physically and magically-speaking, Bowser Jr. has proved himself to be one of the Mushroom Kingdom's greatest threats. He is a great general (most of the time) though he has been known to make some... questionable choices.
Name: Illuxio. Age: Unknown. Gender: Male. Affiliation: The Dark Ones. Species: Magical Jester. Personality: Unknown, though some who have seen him claim that he appears to be light-hearted and full of humor. Appearance: Like the most famous member of his species, Dimentio, Illuxio resembles a sort of jester-like figure, hence his species name. His color scheme is slightly different from that of Dimentio's in that his cape and hood are indigo and silver, though keeping the gold bells. His face is also half black and half indigo, with dark green eyes. History: Unknown. Coin Count: Unknown. Other Information: As a Magical Jester, Illuxio is sure to wield powerful spells, possibly even rivaling those of Merlux.
Name: Jypzi. Age: Unknown. Gender: Female. Affiliation: The Dark Ones. Species: Magical Jester. Personality: Like Illuxio, most of her personality is not known, though she appears to be a fun loving, albeit mostly serious Jester who loyal serves Illuxio. Many speculate that she has some sort of romantic interest in him, most likely just a simple crush. Appearance: A pink and black Magical Jester, with silver bells on her cape and dark blue eyes. History: Unknown, though it is known that at some point in her life she was recruited by Illuxio as his second in command. Coin Count: Unknown. Other Information: Like her leader, Jypzi possesses powerful magic, though not quite as powerful as Illuxio's.
Other, minor NPCs may be created and spoken to as the players see fit, though this may NOT be used as a way of creating more characters than allowed.
Players
(Wolf)
Name: Dacres. Age: 26. Gender: Male. Affiliation: Koopa Troop. Species: Koopa. Personality: Quiet and reserved, Dacres was a born assassin, never letting his enemies or even his allies know when he is there or when he isn't. He is loyal to Bowser and Bowser only - as such, Dacres double checks any orders he receives with Bowser, not trusting any of his other commanders. Appearance: A dark blue Ninja Koopa, who carries several dozen throwing stars wherever he goes, as well as a sword on his back. He wears a blue bandanna and boots, and his shell is naturally colored blue. He also wears a black collar and gloves. History: Formerly a simple Koopa living in Koopa Village, Dacres was always fascinated with swords and stealth fighters. As such, he studied stealth fighting styles and even enlisted as a student at a martial arts school. Eventually, he learned that the Koopa Troop was recruiting, and immediately offered himself up as an assassin for them. He has been a faithful member ever since. Coin Count: 108 coins. Other Information: Dacres is very skilled in sword-fighting, as well as hand-to-hand combat, having mastered several martial arts styles. He also seems to have a deep resent for Yoshis, though for unknown reasons.
Name: Orvaia. Age: 25. Gender: Male. Affiliation: Mushroom Kingdom. Species: Duplighost. Personality: Carefree and fun-loving, Orvaia never fails to see the bright side to a situation. He takes every chance he gets to make a joke about anything, and absolutely loves pranks. Despite his childish attitude, he is very loyal. Appearance: A fairly standard Duplighost stature-wise, though Orvaia instead wears a dark green robe and has yellow hair. His eyes are also orange, and he wears dark blue shoes. History: Born in Toad town, Orvaia lived there in relative peace most of his life, spending his days terrorizing citizens. When King Dothe ordered him to search for the Pages of Daeja, Orvaia reluctantly agreed, claiming to "need the exercise, anyway." Coin Count: 74 coins. Other Information: A master of disguise, like other Duplighosts, Orvaia is able blend in with almost any crowd - at least, for as long as his teammates don't speak his name while he does so. While he is not affected by the pain that usually affects a Duplighost with having your name spoken, it still cancels out his magic. He is also known to possess relatively powerful support spells.
(Dawnsers)
Name: D.J. Age: 25 Gender: Male Affiliation:Mushroom Kingdom Species: Yoshi Personality: He has a tough attitude and a sarcastic personality. Even though he can be a bit bossy at times, he can also be a big softie. Appearance: An ordinary green Yoshi with a red bandanna around his neck. History: D.J. was born in Toad Town, he was able to live in peace until he wanted to see the world. He had heard many tales about Mario and is a great admirer. He is quiet knowledgeable about the Mushroom Kingdom and he knows all enemies weaknesses. Coin Count: 100 coins. Other Information: Travelingwith Mally. (Starstrukk)
Name: Mally Age: 10 Gender: Male Affiliation: Neutral Species: Mushroom Personality: Mally is very.. ditzy, and does not pay very good attention to what people are saying and such. He is a very good person to be around, though. He cheers people up often, and is a very supportive and loyal friend. Though, like anyone, Mally can have a real temper. But it depends on the situation he's in. Appearance: A regular Mushroom... though he carries a small messenger bag filled with odds and ends. History: Mally grew up normally... and he doesn't really have a reason for doing anything, other than for adrenaline rushes and stories to tell. Coin Count: 100 coins. Other Information: Trips a lot... x3Traveling with D.J.
(Dragonstar)
Name: Tekar Age: 22 Gender: Male Affiliation: Koopa Troop Species: Koopatrol (Koopa) Personality: Can be stubborn. He recently joined Bowser's army a couple years ago and has been doing his best to prove he's just as good if not better than the veterans. Appearance: Tekar has had the spikes in his shell made of ruby and painted his helmet red. His armor is as black as coal. He has colored his armor this way to prove his loyalty to Bowser. His war hammer also has a ruby placed at the bottom of the hilt. History: His ancestors have always loyally served Bowser and Tekar plans on continuing this tradition. He's a master at charging recklessly into battle, bellowing a warcry and knocking enemies away with his mighty war hammer. Coin Count: 100 Other Information: Named his war hammer Waffle because of the mark it leaves behind.
Note: for anyone who wants a relatively simple sprite(s) for their character(s) (such as mine) let me know and I'll get right onto it.

Just for reference, the Post Office part only deals with the Mushroom Kingdom, the Koopa Troop bit only deals with Koopa Troop members, and the last part deals with neutral characters.
IC:
Throughout the Mushroom Kingdom, peaceful villagers sat inside of their homes, blissfully unaware of the danger that would soon befall the world. Little did several of these people know, the danger would not be coming to their doorstep... but instead, they would be going into the danger itself.
Post Office, Toad Town... The Postmaster looked at his many employees, all of them winged sub-species of the more common Mushroom Kingdom species. ParaGoombas, ParaKoopas, ParaBob-Ombs... All of them were here for one task, and that was picking up letters that needed to be delivered. Today, however, that task was... a little different, to say the least. Though it was not Sunday, the post office was closed, for undisclosed reasons. The mailmen, all bewildered as to why they had suddenly been taken off of today's schedule without warning, had been instructed to take seats in the auditorium - and that was where they were now.
The Postmaster coughed, walking onto the stage. "Ladies and gentlemen," he said. "We've had a change on plans today, on behalf of King Dothe. As you know, Merlux recently unveiled an ancient prophecy about several pages that must be found by heroes of the Mushroom Kingdom. If they do not, then the Koopa Troop will find them and use them to destroy us." Outraged muttering began as he spoke. The Postmaster held up his hand to silence his workers, though he understood their panic. "Fortunately, the king has found several dozen beings who may be able to save us," he continued. "Your job is to take his summons to them, so that they may be informed of their new tasks before it is too late. Each of you has specific areas that you must go to to deliver these letters. You have until tomorrow to finish your job. Understood?" "Yes, sir!" was said loud and clear by all of the assembled. Each mailman moved to pick up their respective baggage before leaving. The Postmaster watched them go one by one, worrying for the safety of them, and of the beings who King Dothe had summoned.
Bowser's Keep, Unknown Lands... Bowser Jr. smiled arrogantly to himself, looking upon his many followers. In his hand he held the ancient Page of Daeja, found within the heart of the volcano that lay within this land. Holding it up, he was met with thunderous cheers from his army. "This is what you must seek," he yelled. "This is the task I have set for you: Find these pages, and bring them back here. With them, we will finally, after years of war, defeat the Mushroom Kingdom!" The whole room shook from the volume of the army's claps and cheers. This, in turn, caused a weaker section of the roof (conveniently placed above King bowser) to collapse, causing debris to land on his head and burying him in the wreckage. Instantly, the cheering stopped, and Bowser leaped back out, roaring in anger. "YOU MORONS!" he shouted. "GET GOING!" In terror, the whole army ran for the hills, spreading in every direction.
One Koopa, however, stayed behind long enough to stare admiringly at the Koopa King. In a flash, Dacres leaped through a window, heading south. "Makes you wonder why no one else thought to do that," he muttered, seeing that he was the only one who had taken this course out.
In other regions... News was spreading fast. Many beings decided that, for one reason or another, the pages should be found by them - whether this was to help the Mushroom Kingdom or for their own reasons was known only to them. But either way, they would look, and some would even succeed.
OOC: I'll post my character responses later - brother's baseball game, you know. Anyway, let's get RPing!
BTW, Star, I'll get your charry's sprite finished later. Like I said, baseball game.

IC;; "I'm pumped!" shouted Mally. He had just heard of the pages of the Book of Daeja, and the power they held. It had been a long time since he had been to the Mushroom Kingdom, little town Goomba Village, and he decided to stop by there; his old home before he becme a nomadic Toad, or as he liked to call himself, 'Mushroom.' "I love adventures!" he laughed, rumaging through his messanger bag with odds and ends of things in it. "But... should I head to Toad Town? Hm... I think not... Unless I really want to get trampled by other adventurers!" he shouted to no one as he strolled along.
OoC;; I don't know where he is... xP

It had been a long time since D.J. had been on adventure. D.J jumped up and shouted, " Yes! This is going to be of the chain!" He looked around for Mally, a friend. Mally was strolling down the path so D.J. walked over to him. " Hey, Mally! I was just wondering if you want to adventure together. I mean it would be great to adventure together and it would make our friendship thrive! " He smilled and started again ," So would you like toadventure with me? ''

OOC: Just finished your sprite, Star. Of course, the small bag is... um... Well, not suite so small, due to the lack of a sprite for a small bag. But it still has one, nonetheless.
And I think I'm getting Carpal Tunnel Syndrome (basically paralysis of the hands, if left untreated) in one or both of my hands, so if I disappear for a while, that's why. I should still be able to make posts, though, just not as quickly. =/
IC: Toad Town Square, Toad Town... The lone Duplighost squinted his eyes in anticipation, biting his tongue so as not to give away his position. His dark green robe blended in perfectly with the bushes, so he did not expect to be seen... if he was lucky. He saw his prey nearing - a small Toad kid traveling alongside a tiny Yoshi kid. Soon enough, they were passing by. Seeing his chance, he leaped out, and in a puff of smoke, had changed his appearance into that of a Boo. "Rawr!" he yelled, waving his arms about. "Ooga-booga!" The looked on the children's faces were priceless. After several minutes of frightening them, though, another Toad came over, promptly slapping the Duplighost on the head.
"Don't you have anything better to do than scare little kids?" he demanded, as Orvaia chuckled, turning back into himself. "No," he admitted. "At least, not anything as fun or rewarding as this. Don't you have anything better to do than to ruin other people's fun, dude?" The Toad was about to reply when a voice from above called, "Orvaia!" Both beings looked up. A ParaKoopa from the post office was descending upon them. After a minute, he was next to Orvaia, shoving a letter into the Duplighost's hands. "What's-?" Orvaia began. "No time to talk!" the delivery man said hurriedly. "Must-deliver-rest-of-letters!" With that, he flew off. Both the Toad and Orvaia stared after him, before the latter ripped open the letter, reading the contents:
To Orvaia, Duplighost of Toad Town,
You are hereby ordered by King Dothe, on behalf of the Mushroom Kingdom, to assist in the search for the legendary Pages of Daeja. These pages are vital to the defeat of an ancient demon known as the Shadow Caster, as well as the protection of the Mushroom Kingdom from Bowser and the Koopa Troop. Your search, while perailous, will hopefully help you learn that you must not be so childish, as well as providing an outlet for your hyperactivity.
Further instructers and questions will and may be delivered by or asked to the King's advisers.
Signed, Captain of the Guard of the Mushroom Kingdom, Gray T.
"Hyperactivity is an understatement," the Toad muttered under his breath, walking away from the bewildered Duplighost, who simply ignored the comment. "Sounds like an adventure," he said. "i don't like adventures. I'd rather scare wanderers... Though, I suppose I could use a bit of a work-out..."
OoC;; ;-; I'm sorry wolfy. ;0; and i love it! :DDDDDD it's... erm... he's so cute!!!! :3333 THANK YOUUUUU! :DDDD
IC;; Upon suddenly hearing his friend's voice, Mally screamed in surprise and tripped, falling flat on his face. "Hey, D.J.," he muttered into the ground. Propping himself up he smiled and said, "Hahahaha... I guess so... Of course! I would never miss out on a chance to explore with a friend!" Getting up, he and D.J. kept walking, until something just had to go and frighten them again.
"HOLY CRUD!" screeched Mally as a Boo came racing out of the bushes, screaming at them. Trying to run away, he only managed to trip himself again and land himself face-first on the ground. "My luck hates me... doesn't it?" he muttered angrily. Hearing what the Duplighost said, Mally screamed, "OOOOHHHHH! OOOOOOOHH! Are you on an Adventure toooooo?!" The Toad was very childish at times, and this was one of them, as suddenly, he was bouncing around the Duplighost like a child that just had tanks of sugar.

D.J. grinned and said, " Thanks... let's get going." But a Duplighost came out of the bushes and onto the road. D.J. saw Mally fall and laughed. He walked over to Mally and pulled him up, then he turned to the Duplighost. D.J said, " Excuse my friend, he is very hyper. My name's D.J. and this is Mally, were going on an adventure, too. We're going to find the legendary Pages of Daeja. "
